Once Goose calmed down, they stopped laughing and calmly headed to the bookstore, but they still giggled every time Goose turned to look or talk to them because his mouth was filled with ice and he was speaking with his mouth full. While on the way, Zirc and Peony were at the back talking about what book she was gonna buy. Lyla opened up her ears to listen in, but Peony noticed immediately and told Zirc that she hated the book that Lyla chose. Zirc knows for a fact that it isn't true and plays along. Lyla was hurt but opted to continue listening. They talked, but after a while, they forgot about Lyla listening. They then made plans to meet up next weekend when Goose and Lyla go out together. Lyla was excited, but her interests shifted once she arrived at the bookstore, as her favourite book was on preview, not to mention it was on the new release sale, which was 30% off. *I love that she chose to go nuts over a book sale and not a bag sale at one of those big brands with thousands of bucks worth of a single bag*
Lyla grabs her book and pays for it. She then ran to Peony to read together, only to remember what she said. She can't show that she's disappointed, but she insists on reading it together. Peony, knowing her friend all too well, tells her that what she said wasn't true and that she noticed that Lyla was listening in on their conversation. Lyla turned red in embarrassment and told Peony that they would read it together some other day. Peony understood and went to get her book. Zirc and Goose went to the adventure section and looked for their favourite comic and whether there were any new releases. The boys were disappointed because the series was on a short hiatus. Zirc walked slowly to the stationery section like a sad puppy. He found the pens he wanted and bought them. While paying, Zirc saw that a keychain set was on sale of the main couple from “The Girl Who Suffered A Flowery Path” and bought them. He showed Peony the keychain and apologised for the heated argument but went away while whispering: “But I won't apologize for my opinion”. They both kept and hid their keychains with glee while leaving the store.
Lyla was excited to go home, but Goose convinced her to go out on an activity. Lyla contemplated while looking at both her book and Peony. She then had an epiphany: if they hang out, she will get to observe real romance blooming instead of reading it. Lyla eagerly agreed and suggested they go have lunch first. Once she said that, Zirc's stomach rumbled. He looked at Lyla and said: “I know you can't read minds, but can you read my stomach cause that was spot on, man!! How did you know I was hungry?” Peony looked at him and shook her head in disappointment and told him: “WE WOKE YOU UP!! WE WATCHED YOU GET READY!! AND FINALLY, WE KNOW YOU HAVEN'T EATEN ANYTHING YET!! Only an idiot like yourself wouldn't have noticed why you would get hungry at that time…” Peony stopped talking and just hit Zirc on the head. Zirc had a face of confusion and wanted to ask what he did wrong, only for Peony to finish her sentence, which Goose quickly signaled that he would be dead if he opened his mouth by showing the talking gesture, followed by the cut throat gesture.
