After being in the library till the moon rose  and also ignoring the call of brothers from afar, it was finally the next day, 

[Well, yesterday was weird, but at least she looked more like herself, but--]

He could still hear the murmurs around him.

“Didn’t you hear? He was with Marie yesterday?”

“Oh really? Are those a thing or something?” 

“Well, they both looked happy when the finals came last semester”

Luca looked down, hiding his red face.

He covered his face with his hands. 

[Seriously, why are people assuming that? I just wanted to learn more about magic, is that so wrong?] 

As he passed an…oddly half broken door, he stooped. 

He looked inside and saw two familiar figures.

[Oh, it’s those two, even in the morning? Don’t they have class?]

Suddenly, she turned back and glared at him. 

His eyes widened and he averted his gaze. 

As he tried to escape, he could feel a sudden pull. 

He was lifted by her. 

“AGHHH, I AM SORRY I AM-”

She tilted her head. 

“Sorry for what?”

“Umm…disturbing you two?”

“oh, it’s fine, I thought you were a suspicious person, sorry”, she said as she dropped him.

[What…WHATS WRONG WITH THIS GIRL] 

He stood up and said, “Oh, sorry, I forgot to introduce myself yesterday, umm, I am Luca”

He extended his hand. 

She shook his hand.

Luca’s eyes widened. He could feel a sharp pain on his hand

[WHY IS HER GRIP SO STRONG] 

“I am Ryuko, Ryuko Manson, While he is Rei Chen, he is the leader of this club”  

Rei then looked at Luca for a moment and said, “Hello, nice to meet you”

He then proceeded to focus back on his project.  

“Nice…to meet you”, he said as she finally let go and sat back down.

Silence then filled the room. 

“Umm, what are you making there?”

“Just something to up the core’s defense system, I already suggested the school to at least make one, but they said it wasn’t important”, he said.

“Yeah, and now the school is busy pestering him to make a new defense system, sheesh, no wonder my hubbie started having white hairs”, she said with a smug face.

[Are they…really not married?] 

“Stop, you’re gonna give our junior here more questions than answers”

She then leaned on him.

“But, we’re gonna be right? we’re in our final years anyway”

He blushed.

He stopped tinkering for a moment.

“Please, not in here, he is watching, besides he has things to worry about, with his burnt arm and all” 

“Oh yeah, he is that dragon boy people keep talking about, the one who stopped a rogue magic user, what was his name?”

“Vale, he’s a lost magic user and the one who made it obvious that the school’s core needed a defense system”, he said as he started tinkering again. 

“Oh yeah, Vale, well, he died in the end didn’t he?”

“...yeah”, Luca said. He looked down.

Ryuko then looked at him.

“Is something on your mind? You don’t need to be so tense around us”

Luca then looked at her and smiled.

“Oh, it’s just, why are you both here? Isn't class supposed to be starting?”

“I got special permission”, Rei said.

“And I need to look after him”, Ryuko said with a smile on her face.

“But..why?”

“Because I want to”

[What?...that’s it?]

“umm, that’s it? 

“Yeah”, she said. 

Rei then nodded. 

[Huh, i guess it is]
