The next day…

Luca was…slowly treading his way to his class.

[My…body…my…mana]

As he slowly walked, he could hear more murmurs.

“Hey didn’t you hear, some people were saying they saw a monster wandering the school?”

“EEEEE! That’s creepy”

“Yeah, I heard it was scaly and was as tall as us, it even walked like a gremlin” 

“STOP STOP STOP!”

[Sheesh, his school can never rest can it? Now there are monsters?] 

As he kept walking, he felt something was off. 

[Wait…why do I feel like I passed my class]

He then looked to his side and saw “Core room”

[...HOW DID I GET HERE?]

He sighed.

His ear then perked up.

He looked to the slightly opened door. 

[Huh, why does it sound like someone is in there?]

He peeked inside and saw someone. 

He then could hear a familiar voice.

“Hmm, this is odd, it shouldn’t really be-”

[Huh, it’s odd seeing him here, But he did say the school asked him to] 

“Luca If you wanna come inside, be exactly 30 cm away from the core, you’ll get zapped” 

[HOW DID HE KNOW I WAS HERE]

Luca then went inside.

“Oh sorry to disturb you, I just got lost and I found myself here” 

“Don’t worry about it”

Rei kept tinkering with the core, spinning and manipulating it with ease.

[THIS IS AWKWARD, I SHOULD ASK SOMETHING]

“Umm, so…how long have you been here?”

“....”

“Umm..Rei?”

“I forgot, but please don’t tell her-”

Suddenly the door opened by a powerful force.

Both of them stopped.

Luca started shaking.

Both of them gulped.

“Rei, let’s go” 

“Ryuko, don’t get near here, you’ll get-”

She walked towards him without a sense of fear.

She got zapped, yet…she didn’t feel anything.

She kept walking.

[How does someone like her even exist]

“Ryuko, not now…there is still this oddity I need to deal with and the summoning mechanic-”

“Let’s. Go”, she said with a smile.

“....okay”

She then lifted him up and went out.

Rei then said, “Luca, if anyone asked, I will come back at noon”

“oh..okay?”

They then left.

Luca then looked at the core.

[hmm]

[What is it, human?]

[Nothing, it’s just…it reminded of that day you know]

He blinked and for a moment could see  familiar figures standing in front of the core as if protecting it. 

[Honestly, I can’t believe…I am just here now]

[Well, you are]

[Yeah…] 

Luca sighed and went back to his usual routine.
