My boyfriend is a secret billionaire

The interview day

The interview day

Jun 28, 2026

 [MARTIN ROY'S POINT OF VIEW]

Inside the silent mansion, the morning light felt heavy.

Martin Roy sat alone in his study, ignoring the breakfast tray his assistant had brought in.

"Sir, you are skipping your meals again," John, his loyal assistant , said in a low, worried voice.

"Please eat something."

"No, John," Martin replied coldly, staring blankly ahead.

"I cannot eat anything. Today is the anniversary of my wife's death. Just leave me alone."

For the rest of the day, Martin remained locked in his grief.
But the corporate world didn't stop.

By the next morning, the official interview day had arrived.

John hurried into the study, holding an urgent file.

"Sir, you need to go to the office immediately. An international deal we've been chasing just went through. We need your signature today to lock down the Lanston project."

Martin sighed heavily, the weight of his multi-billion-dollar empire pressing down on his shoulders.

"I will go to the office, sign the papers, and return immediately. John, you stay here with Sanjay. He needs someone close while he grieves."

"Sir, shouldn't you change into your formal clothes?" John asked, noticing Martin was still wearing casual attire.

"There is no time," Martin muttered impatiently, rushing out the door.

As his car pulled up to the grand entrance of Roy Enterprises, Martin felt a sudden, sharp tightness in his chest.

His vision blurred.

He stepped out of the vehicle, his legs shaking violently under him. He tried to call out for help, but his voice failed.

The world spun, and the powerful billionaire collapsed heavily onto the hard pavement of the ground floor lobby.

## [SARA'S POINT OF VIEW]

Sara stepped off the bus and walked toward the towering glass building of Roy Enterprises.

Her heart was beating fast, her mind focused entirely on the interview ahead.

As she approached the entrance, she noticed a crowd of candidates gathered in a circle, whispering anxiously.

An elderly man in casual clothes lay unconscious on the ground.

"We shouldn't touch him," one candidate muttered, stepping back.

"We'll be late for the interview! If we miss our slot, we lose our chance at the company."

"Yeah, let's just go inside," another agreed, walking past the fallen man without a second glance.

"It's not our problem."

Sara’s blood ran cold at their cruelty. How can they just leave him?

Without a single thought for her interview, Sara dashed through the crowd and knelt beside the man.

"Sir! Can you hear me?" She checked his pulse—it was weak and erratic.

She looked up at the lingering candidates, her eyes blazing with anger.

"Help me get him to the street! We need to get him to a hospital right now!"

"We're getting late, sorry," a girl replied coldly, walking away.

Fortunately, two nearby bystanders saw Sara's desperation and helped her carry the man to the curb.

Sara frantically hailed a taxi, pushing the unconscious man into the backseat.

"Driver, go as fast as you can to the nearest hospital!" Sara yelled, her voice trembling with fear.

Minutes later, they burst into the emergency room. The doctors rushed the elderly man onto a gurney.

After a quick initial analysis, a doctor hurried out to the waiting room.

"We need to implant a stent immediately to save his life," the doctor said urgently.

"Please pay the emergency medical deposit at the desk right now so we can begin."

Sara pulled out her phone and opened her digital wallet app.

Her hands shook as she stared at her bank balance.

This money was meant to renovate her family's house and help her father launch his startup business for career.

It was all the money they had in the world.

If I use this, my family's dreams are delayed, Sara thought, her breath hitching.

She looked through the glass doors at the pale, dying man. But a life is worth more than a business.

Without hesitating, she swiped her screen and transferred the entire amount to the hospital.

"The payment is done. Please, save him."

A nurse walked over, looking at the intake form.

"Are you a relative of this patient?"

"No," Sara breathed, trying to calm her racing heart.

"I just found him outside Roy Enterprises. Is his condition stable? What happened to him?"

"Don't panic, he is going to be alright thanks to you," the nurse smiled reassuringly, handing her a bag.

"These are the patient's personal items. Please keep them safe with you."

Sara took the bag, but as she moved it, a heavy wallet slipped open inside.

Her jaw dropped.

Tucked inside the leather bag were massive, thick stacks of high-denomination cash.

"No way..." Sara whispered, stunned.

The nurse gasped, looking at the bag.

"There is a massive amount of money in his pockets! Look, you should count it right here in front of the CCTV camera, and then we will lock it safely in the hospital locker. Wait... where are you going?"

"I need to go buy the prescription medicines the doctor ordered," Sara said, already turning toward the pharmacy.

The nurse stared after her in absolute shock.

She didn't even touch his money, the nurse thought, deeply moved.

She used her own life savings to save him, even though he has a fortune in his bag.

## [MARTIN ROY'S POINT OF VIEW]

Hours later, Martin slowly opened his eyes.

The harsh white lights of the VIP recovery room made him wince. He looked to his side and saw a nurse checking his vitals.

"Excuse me," Martin croaked, his throat incredibly dry.

"Where is John? Where are my staff?"
The nurse gasped, rushing to his side.

"Oh, you're awake! Wait, let me call the doctor."

Within moments, the chief physician walked into the room, reviewing Martin's charts.

"Yes, sir, how are you feeling now?"

"I am fine," Martin said, his voice regaining its usual commanding authority.

"Where are the people who brought me here? Who joined me?"

"Only one young woman brought you in, sir," the nurse explained.

Martin’s brows furrowed. His mind immediately went to his corporate wealth.

"Where is my bag and my phone? Why is my money still here? What about the hospital payment?"

"Actually, she went to the pharmacy to buy your medicine right now," the nurse said, her voice filled with immense respect.

"Sir, when she brought you in, I saw the massive amount of cash in your bag. I explicitly told her to count it under the security camera and lock it away. But she didn't care about your money at all. She completely ignored it and used her own personal digital wallet to pay for your emergency heart surgery."

Martin sat up straighter, his sharp eyes widening in genuine shock. Someone saved my life... and paid for it with their own money, completely ignoring the fortune in my bag?

"I am Martin Roy," he said, turning a piercing gaze onto the doctor and nurse.

"I want your absolute cooperation. If that girl comes back into this room, do not tell her that I am awake. Act exactly as I say. Understood?"

"Okay, sir," the nurse nodded nervously.

Martin lay back down, closing his eyes and pretending to be unconscious just as he heard soft footsteps approaching the room.

Outside the door, Sara finally returned, holding a bag of medicine.

She looked through the window anxiously.

"Nurse, how is he?"
The nurse stepped out into the hallway, sticking to Martin's orders.

"He is still unconscious. Please, stay here with him until he awakens."

Sara nodded softly, sitting down in the waiting chair, completely unaware that the powerful patriarch of the Roy empire was secretly watching her every move from behind the glass.

The master of the chessboard had just been saved by the very piece he intended to destroy.

Now, the game truly begins.
