The Lost Myra (Remake)

How would you even know they are bad, while we haven't yet arrived?!

How would you even know they are bad, while we haven't yet arrived?!

Jul 05, 2026

3 days passed.

Myra is alone. Looking at the dazzle of the sunset at the deck of the ship.
With her hood on. No one could even tell what her face is.
Seems like the cloak can do something like that, just makes it safer for her at this point.

While everyone of the people by the ship is busy with their own thing and not interacting with us Nelverans, the other fellow people is even keeping their distances from them and not saying anything.

I wonder if they hated us?

The old man kept me company during the past days. I wonder what can I do for Grandpa?

"What are you out here for, little one?"

A sudden womanly figure went over Myra's side. A beautiful woman who looked like she's in her 20s. With a red hair, warm like the sunset, dressed in cloak, hiding her whole figure.

"...."

"... Hm? Why the sudden stare?"

"Ah... Hm.."

"?"
"You look... Really beautfiul..."
"My... Thank you~!"

Such a soft voice....

"..."

She must be one of the people who were on the ship. Why is she suddenly talking to me? An exiled Nelveran member...?

"Uhm... Can I ask you a question... S-sister...?"
"Sure."
-
After contemplating, Myra got her courage and say, "Is... The south a scary place...?"

"... Hm."

With a long look she continuely say, "Yes and no."

"Huh?"
"Well, that place really is scary for some monsters that can attack at some point but adventurers are there to protect the south, and no, since the place really is a cheerful place, many people who would go for the south would sometimes be after its festival and fruits and some other fun stuff!"
"A festival... ?"

I heard of them before in books, a festival... Fesitvity of towns or places.

"Have you been to one?"
"... No."
"Huh? How come?"
"... Nelverans don't have festivals..."

Is this okay... ?

"Then how do you guys celebrate?"

Myra's eyes widened and took a long look over the young lady's face with curiousity.

'The outsiders are dangerous. They'd just spat at us when we talk things about ourselves!'

Those were the words I would often hear, coming out of the mouth of the elders back then.

'Don't trust someone too suddenly....'

".... We would either just compete and celebrate harvest seasons instead and when it does, we give out for each other exchanging our harvests and compete with cooking."

Silence took awhile.

Will she... -

"Wow... That sounds really fun!"
"!"

Myra's eyes sparkled.

"... Yeah!"

Somehow.... I think it's okay to at least... Get a friend.... Right...?

With the sun gradually coming down, Myra and the mysterious lady talked for some time, eventually not realizing that it's already nighttime.

"Oh... Look at the time... Seems that was a fun talk, huh?"
"Y-yeah..."

All we talked about are just fun stuff. And surprisingly, that talk gave me a little sense of relief.
The young lady smiled warmly.

"Before parting.... My name's Isla. What is your name?"
"... I'm Myra."

"What a nice name~!"
"Ah.... Your name is pretty too, sister....!"
"Thank you!"

Myra paused.

"Will you not come in too? Myra? It's already dark out here."
"... It's okay. I like it here."
".... Alright. But be careful out here, okay?"

Myra nodded in agreement, as Isla continued her way down the ship.

By parting ways, Myra chose to stay by the deck.

We only had our fun talks and all... But....
By being reminded of the events between her and the Nelverans, Myra looked up by the sky, closing her eyes with deep thoughts.

I need to be careful.... She might just be nice at first.... Or pretending.... Then, I'll get hated and hit...
That's right...

*Gurgle*

"Ukk.... Haha... Thankfully, I'm the only one out here."

I don't want to eat by the cafeteria... It feels scary...

Myra sat down and leaned by the deck at the side, as she opens her bag.
My fish!

"Aaahm!"

It's not yummy.... And it tastes weird....

"But...."

This is the only fish I have left...

Myra wore a sad expression for awhile, looking at the fish in her hand.

I need to eat...

After eating the fish, she soon threw away the fish bones by the ocean and walks back down the ship.
Getting back at her room.

While entering, she is welcomed with the old man who looked upset.

"Where have you been up to, brat?"
"Grandpa... ?"
"I didn't see you at the cafeteria."
"Oh, uhm...."

What is going on...? Why is Grandpa looking more scary today...?

"I... Just went by the deck..."
"Didn't I tell you to come back before night? Do you want us to get suspected? HUH?"
"I.... I'm sorry!"
"Sorry? That wouldn't CUT IT!! Didn't the elders tell you that they are bad?! Well, they might've not told you as well, that many of them invaded us and made us live in that Island! Don't you?"
"....."

I know... And that's why... Master would also get mad just by hearing about them.
With Myra trembling by the door, she squinted her eyes in fear as the old man gets near.

'
"Big sis Layla.... Do you think the people back to the Empire are bad?"

Layla lays on Myra's lap, as they looked at each other, under a tree.

"I don't think so... Because.... Dad did came from there right?" - Layla
"Mmhmm." - Myra

"And he told us fun stuff over there, and he even said he made great friends he always say he misses." - Layla
"Yeah. I would even see Dad write letters to them and have a little smile on his face." - Myra
'

".... How would you even know they are bad, while we haven't yet arrived?"
"What?!"

'Looks like I'll have to teach you a lesson to understand it!" - Old man.

Myra bursts out of the room and ran away as fast as she could through back the upper deck.

"Come back here!!"

She looked on her left and right and rushed through the back outside of the control room, where almost no one goes through at night.

*Sobs...*

I can't.... I can't trust anyone here!! It's a lie...

"They're lying!"

*Sobs...*

"Master..... Big sis.... Layla...."
