Invincible Maru: From Fragile Unto Unbreakable

Parents Argue

Parents Argue

Jul 06, 2026

After constant disappointment, and disappointment. The powerful parents began to constantly argue, deciding what they need to do with their son, as pressure and mockery began to inflict their relationship so bad.
[ Kent Family House, Trinia, Pride Capital Region.]
[ October, 1994 ]
" I can't take it anymore, everyone's mocking me for the child's weakness!
I used to be one of the most powerful woman on earth, even in the eyes of the Divine, how could I bear a weak child! This must be a bad joke!
This is your fault, the child's weakness must be from you! "
" You're blaming me for the child's frail body!? " Mr. Kent shouts as his wife, Lady Fubuki who accuses his genes of making their child, Maru, so frail and powerless.
As the two parents argue, Maru, from his bedroom, hears it all.
"( Father, mother… )" Maru holds his pillow, shivering in his bed as the arguing continues in the next room.
" The powers from mine won't appear during a five-year-old! In this phase, he needs to be fed healthy food first! " Mr. Kent tells Lady Fubuki, adding some story for a bit, that he remembered unlocking his inhumane power at 6; it was in 1965.
" Back then, even though I had ups and downs, you must've thought every power should be seen once a person is born, didn't you, you entitled Blue-Blood Gifted Powered Mortal! " Mr. Kent tells his wife.
" Of course it does, Power and Life is determined from whence you born! " said Lady Fubuki.
" Well, it doesn't! Power must be developed, trained, and tested! But before that, the child needs nutrition more than constant testing; he needs to build up his body mass!
That's how my family and I do it! That's the way of my kind, Yukino! " Mr. Kent tells his wife, calling her name.
" Well, I didn't know your kind, Ragna! " Lady Fubuki calls Mr. Kent by his name.
" I don't know how your Inhumane Alien body works, you rarely tell me! " Lady Fubuki says the word, a word which Maru hears.
" Alien? " Maru suddenly remembered, he remembered the time when his late grandmother, Lady Fubuki's mother, constantly called him whenever he visited.
" Look, it's the frail alien child! " the grandmother said the words with spite, as Maru remembers it.
" Don't you dare call me like that, WOMAN! " Mr. Kent gets insulted in the other room.
" I am Half-human! That slur should be meant for my grandfather! "
" So what if it is!? You're no different than those non-human sapiens, aliens,' The Dwarves, the Elves! " Lady Fubuki mentioned the two races.
"( So Dwarves and Elves are what grandmother means when mentioning 'aliens'? )" Maru asks himself as he continues to hear the continued arguing.
" You may look or have a mind to think like us, but you will 'never' be 'us'! " Lady Fubuki began to make things worse.
" You should all be a lowly being, like monsters, or even animals! " Lady Fubuki lowers her voice tone.
" Oh, really! " Mr. Kent replied. Not backing off as his wife dares to say those words.
" Do you want to be reminded again, reminded of how we first met!? " Mr. Kent lowered the tone, but the voice began to be felt serious and cold, making Lady Fubuki silent, too silent.
" Yeah, I remembered it all too well. I defeated you with bare hands, ignoring all that fancy breeze of your so-called 'Blizzard'!? " Mr. Kent reminded his wife.
" That's how I got you here without any resistance, for that is what I deserved after I defeated you in your 'stupid' Family's 'Tournament', tch! " Mr. Kent scoffs.
" Look at you, all that advertising and newspaper… " Mr. Kent says it while shaking his head in disappointment.
" Guess they expect you too much, you're just an entitled fool, a frail snow princess trapped in the castle, fearing the burning heat of the sun.
That Blizzard Power, no matter how powerful the Gifter God is, is wasted on your frail woman body. " Mr. Kent yawns, as Maru hears in his room a sound that could only mean Mr. Kent sitting on the nearby sofa.
" Guess we finally found the source of the problem, tzexixixi… " Mr. Kent chuckles while Lady Fubuki scoffs.
" How dare you chuckle in front of me…? " she said it while holding her anger after being insulted or perhaps the husband said something she knows to be true.
" Martial Arts…, that's how Maru's path forward will be.
If you ask me how I could be certain, for that is how it is, that's how my 'Alien' powers emerged.
For Martial Arts and my 'powers' are all about strength and strike efficiency. Not some fancy rituals and casting of those you called 'Gift Powers'. " Mr. Kent tells her while exhaling.
" My 'contact' in the 'Realm of Murim' (Realm of Martial Arts and Cultivation) has agreed that his Sect will teach our son things to make him stronger. " Mr. Kent says it.
" And what about the 'Connecting Gates'...? " Lady Fubuki asks.
" Do you think a five-year-old could enter the Gate without any medical preparation first? " Lady Fubuki tells.
" My 'contact' will be in the 'Envy Peak's Region, the Region where the 'Connecting Gate' is placed. Probably some stuff like talismans could guard the child for a while. "
" (Yawn) I can't wait for the preparation stuff…, I'm going to prepare things and-
Wait, are you gonna join? " Mr. Kent asks as Lady Fubuki sighs.
" Do whatever you want? Just make sure the kid is strong enough for the gods to at least give him something. " Lady Fubuki leaves Mr. Kent, going towards their bed first.
" I'm tired…, The Blue Blood Clan Families want to have another meeting, I can't miss it.
Or else, My family will be shamed even worse than when they discovered how frail Maru is…
" Good night, Husband. " Lady Fubuki leaves with a bit of sarcasm, while little Maru in his room could only cry while holding a Leonardo Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figure. A figure of a mutant ninja turtle wearing a blue ninja mask and two katanas, Maru's favorite character.

Extra:
When I researched the internet, I found out TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) already exist around 1994. Correct me if I'm wrong. And yes, the character Maru holds is Leonardo.

His mother could freeze an army with her blizzard. His father carelessly broke thousands barehanded before breakfast.
So when their son was born without a single drop of power between them passed down to him — no Gift, no Aura, not even a god willing to claim him — the world called it impossible.
His mother called it a disgrace.
Mark "Maru" Kent was a five-year-old child rejected by every divine power in existence. Too frail to survive on strength alone, too unwanted to stay home, he's sent to the one place where there's the only hope he could become stronger — the hidden Realm of Murim, where fists are forged, not gifted.
"I want my son to become strong, no matter what." -- Maru's father.
This is the origin of the man the heavens forgot to bless — and the one thing in this universe that power itself couldn't buy.
