Invincible Maru: From Fragile Unto Unbreakable

Onto Envy Peaks (1.2)

Onto Envy Peaks (1.2)

" You're too young to eat Junk food; most of it is junk food. Eat traditional food first. " Mr. Kent tells his son for his own good. Some kebab made from real meat, Mr. Kent wants Maru to eat it so he can build up his strength.
( Maru had difficulty eating meat. )
" Continue eating…, you'll need more meat than any kid, " said Mr. Kent. He then continued to tell Maru that he once developed his inhumane strength after changing his diet at six, all meat, along with some veggies.
" From my side of the family, our body really needs meat.
Not because we're carnivores like lions or tigers, but because we need to build and constantly maintain our strength. Remember that, son, remember this once you see the signs of my strength emerging within you." Mr. Kent tells little Maru as he tries eating, before this, his mother only gave him vegetables, ignoring Mr. Kent's insistence on meat, she tells Mr. Kent, " Kids like that need veggies first. "
" Martial Arts? " Maru suddenly asked Mr. Kent.
" Are you sure, Martial Arts will make me strong, Father? " Maru asks as Mr. Kent sighs.
" No…, but it will help you develop something else… " Mr. Kent tells Maru, which made Maru confused.
" Mentality, Focus, Ambition, Passion, Discipline, this is what Martial Arts will first teach before Strength.
For strength is the second foundation, whilst those things like Mentality, Focus, Ambition, Passion, and Discipline are the first ones. After you acquire those two, power comes naturally. " Mr. Kent explains.
" So I will have Gift Powers after learning that, Father? " Maru asks politely, still biting the meat away.
" Your mother already indoctrinated you in the Gift Power's importance, huh? " Mr. Kent asks.
" Indoctrin- "
" I'm not gonna change that worldview, she's right, Gift Powers are important.
This is a world filled with powers and trouble, so some Power, Gifted by the Divine, is surely needed.
But usually, those who gained Gift Powers from birth often lacked the mentality and physical strength to wield their power. Hence, their life, their way of thinking, and their body will often be shaped by their Gift Power's true nature. "
The thing is, I'm still researching this topic, but hear me, son, most Gifted Mortals' bodies, if stripped from their Gift Powers, are nothing but crumbling unshaped clay.
For their whole strength and spirit will immediately vanish as they're so dependent on their Gifts, for that power is what forms their very life.
That's why I'm quite lucky to have my Gifts later, at least my body is already developed in case the gods see me unworthy of it… " Mr. Kent suddenly looked at Maru as he rubbed his beard.
" Perhaps that's the reason for your case… " Mr. Kent reveals that he tells Maru he gets his Gift Powers in his early twenties.
" That's long, Father… " Maru tells Mr. Kent.
" Even Mother, Mother-Sama, told me that the latest age to be given any Gift Powers is ten years old. "
" Then how do you? " Maru asks, but Mr. Kent silently answers by revealing his inhumane muscles in front of Maru, and then he clenched his fist, slowly lifting his index finger and pointing it at his head.
" My brawn and brains, son…
It took years for me to develop. You're lucky I'm letting you prepare early.
" Finish the meal, we're going to continue… " Mr. Kent says he then looked to his left, looking at the window.
Outside, a gathering crowd, gathering with an atmosphere that Mr. Kent felt was wrong.
( Mr. Kent's left eye glows. )
Mr. Kent then sees the crowd, seeing a person being treated, bursting with blood, as in his body could be seen some claw wounds along with some sharp rock shrapnel nailed into his body as well.
( Mr. Kent frowns. )
" What is it, Father? " Maru asks.
" Finish the meal, and then clean your hands.
Father here needs to make another call. "

His mother could freeze an army with her blizzard. His father carelessly broke thousands barehanded before breakfast.
So when their son was born without a single drop of power between them passed down to him — no Gift, no Aura, not even a god willing to claim him — the world called it impossible.
His mother called it a disgrace.
Mark "Maru" Kent was a five-year-old child rejected by every divine power in existence. Too frail to survive on strength alone, too unwanted to stay home, he's sent to the one place where there's the only hope he could become stronger — the hidden Realm of Murim, where fists are forged, not gifted.
"I want my son to become strong, no matter what." -- Maru's father.
This is the origin of the man the heavens forgot to bless — and the one thing in this universe that power itself couldn't buy.
