The Fallen Betrayer

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Jul 10, 2026

To all readers, everything in this book is true and really happened. Please handle this book with care. I don’t want it to end up in the wrong hands or be destroyed.

This book has all the information you need to understand this kingdom up until the death of the so-called founder. I’ve included some personal experiences that I went through myself. This is the final piece of evidence you’ll ever come across because you won’t find it anywhere else.

Thank you for taking the time to read the history of Angel Kingdom.

Best regards, Albert P., the author of this book.

Our tale begins 20,000 years ago, in a kingdom that had neither a name nor a ruler. This land was covered in lush grass and was home to a mere 500 mysterious angels. These so-called angels could have been humans or something else entirely. Within this grassy realm, there existed a community that adored their kingdom, caring for it from top to bottom.

The kingdom featured only a library and a single academy where people of all ages gathered, though they were taught in separate classrooms. In this particular academy, two teenage boys stood out as the most popular. Their names were Kian and Leonard. Kian was known as the teacher's favorite due to his remarkable skills and looks. His hair was a unique blend of blonde and brown, a rare sight in the kingdom, and his eyes shone a soft yellow. On the other hand, Leonard was the star athlete, boasting striking light orange hair and blue eyes.

Everyone believed these two would never betray each other; at least, that was the common belief. People in this era were wary of rumors, as they could tarnish the reputation of their kingdom.

One thing that these two teenage boys were thinking about was their reputation. Even though they were best friends, their reputation only mattered to them until a new person entered their lives and changed everything.

It was a lovely day in the middle of spring; the community could smell a strange fragrance that transformed the empty grassland into something extraordinary. The community was amazed by the new girl; they couldn't stop talking about her. What I remember about her was the scent of roses, her green eyes, and her brown hair.

As this mysterious girl arrived in the kingdom, she made her way to the academy, where she would probably spend her whole life studying. When she showed up at the academy, everyone paused to stare at her. The two teenage boys found themselves drawn to her attention.

One thing I noticed was that both of them had a plan to date this girl and take over the kingdom. I thought it was a wild idea and there was no way it would actually happen, but as fate would have it, it did. I found myself sitting next to Kian on my left and Leonard on my right.

There was a moment when Kian mentioned he would be the first to date this girl and make a name for himself in the kingdom, just like the founder. Oddly enough, Leonard had the same plan as his best friend, even though he wasn't known for it. So, I chose to stay quiet and said nothing.

As the days went by, the two guys were trying to catch the girl's attention. However, she didn't seem interested in either of them until one day she approached me and asked about my relationship with the two guys. I made it clear that they weren't my friends; they were just classmates. The girl seemed to get what I meant, but the more I watched her, the more I realized she was as beautiful as everyone said, yet she kept glancing at Leonard as if she admired him from a distance.

Out of the blue, Leonard came over to chat with me about the upcoming festival activities. Once we finished talking, the girl decided to go with him. I can't recall what happened after that day, but two months later, those two were officially dating. You might be curious about Kian. Well, Leonard told me that they decided to keep their relationship a secret so that Kian wouldn't find out. Honestly, it was easy for them to date in secret, but when the festival approached, things took an unexpected turn.

Six hours before the event, everyone was busy making the final preparations to ensure everything was perfect.

During his free time, Kian appeared to have a heated argument with one of his classmates, trying to keep the name of the festival a secret. It’s a name that sounds really nice, and it might even be the name of this grassland kingdom. His classmates were stumped for a name until Leonard and a young girl walked into the classroom.

You could hear all sorts of whispers from the other students, like how cute they looked together and hoping their relationship would last forever, and so on. These whispers reached Kian, who was unaware and felt upset that his best friend hadn’t told him about it.

"So you want to call the festival 'Angel Kingdom'?" "Yeah, because look at us, we’ve had white wings all along. This kingdom is filled with grasslands, and eventually, it will improve. Instead of just a grassland kingdom, we’ll be known as the angel kingdom, a place that showcases all the beauty of nature, with buildings resembling skyscrapers, and much more."

The classmates loved Leonard's idea so much that they urged him to go to city hall and present his concept so he could become the new founder. Leonard decided to take his classmates' advice and headed straight to city hall. Meanwhile, Kian had other plans. After hearing his best friend's words, he was furious that Leonard had taken his idea of becoming the founder and also his crush, who he had liked first.

"Since the festival is today, I won’t let him have his way tonight. This is my moment to shine. I just need to get rid of him, and then the girl will be mine after all," Kian muttered softly to himself. Hearing him say that made me nervous. Today’s festival should be enjoyable, but if Kian is acting like this, I need to warn Leonard right away to be careful tonight.

An hour before the festival, I was running and flying around looking for Leonard. I found him sharing a goodbye kiss with his girlfriend.

After she left, I told him that Kian was planning something terrible for him at tonight's festival. Leonard was sure his best friend wouldn’t do that, but when he saw my scared expression, he took my warning seriously. I felt a bit better sharing that with him, but deep down, I had a bad feeling about it.

Welcome, everyone, to our first annual festival! The night is just beginning, so have fun! As you come in, make sure to stop by the podium to meet other students who helped put this awesome festival together. Since it’s our very first one, everyone is definitely going to have a blast.

As I was walking towards the podium, I caught a glimpse of Kian grinning out of the corner of my eye. The look on his face was not something you’d expect from someone with white wings. When Kian noticed me, I started to walk faster so he wouldn’t catch up.

"Hey there, your name is Albert, right? Why are you running away from me like you saw something you shouldn’t?" "Me? Running from you? No way! I was just hurrying to the podium to hear the speech. But since you’re here, shouldn’t you be behind the podium?" "Actually, no. It’s mostly my best friend and some classmates I had a fight with who are supposed to be speaking. I’ll just wait here for him to come back down so we can chat. See you later, buddy."

That whole conversation felt really off; his smile was creepy, not in a good way at all. I decided to push those thoughts aside. Tonight is meant to be amazing, and I’m excited to hear Leonard’s speech.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the very first festival of the century! I’m Leonard, and I’ve decided to call this city Angel Kingdom. You might not have noticed, but we’ve had these white wings all along; we’re actually angels. Pretty awesome, right? I’m excited to announce that this new kingdom will be transformed into a brighter place with all sorts of new things. Just before the festival kicked off, I declared myself the founder of this kingdom. As I speak, construction is happening right now. It’ll probably take about a year for everything to be finished. The blueprints I designed for this kingdom, based on my vision, are with my council. I don’t want to take up too much of your time, so let’s enjoy this festival!"

As soon as he finished his speech, the crowd erupted in loud cheers and applause. Everyone gathered around the new founder of Angel's Kingdom, except for Kian. I wanted to have a good time that night, but Kian had to pull me into his scheme, and I’d have to keep quiet about what was going to happen in just a few minutes. I stood there like a statue, watching how fake Kian was as he pretended to be grateful to Leonard, the new founder. I couldn’t read their lips as they moved away from the festival to a more private spot while I quietly followed behind them.

"You know, man, I’m really upset with you. How could you betray me? I thought we would always keep our promises to each other." "I’m sorry, but what promise are you talking about?" "You really don’t remember the promise we made before your girlfriend, the new girl at school, came along?" "Oh, that promise! I remember now. But it’s not my fault. I didn’t take her away from you. She just felt uncomfortable around you. She sensed this vibe that was really off. That’s why she started talking to me more; she felt more at ease." "So you’re admitting you took her from me. I can’t believe this. First, you take my girl, then you take the title of founder, and now my reputation."

"Whoa, man, you need to chill. I’ve already said I NEVER TOOK ANYTHING FROM YOU. But now that I see your true colors, it’s clear you only care about yourself and nothing else. Even though we were best friends, you never cared about me. Now you’re talking about your reputation, but that was the only thing you valued. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to get back to the festival. We’re not best friends anymore, Kian; you did this to yourself, not me."

After that terrible conversation, Kian lost it and killed Leonard in a brutal way that made me cover my eyes. You might be curious about what happened next. After Leonard was murdered, Kian pretended to be the victim, telling everyone that his best friend was killed by someone in a secluded area. While everyone was trying to figure out who did it and what weapon was used, no one found anything. With the new founder gone, Kian took over his position and ended up changing everything.

One small detail: they finally disclosed Leonard's ex-girlfriend, Stella, at the funeral service. Kian and Stella were together for just 5 months before she broke up with him and transferred to another academy. Heartbroken, Kian tragically passed away in his sleep.

To this day, people are still searching for answers about who really killed Leonard, where the murder weapon is, and how it ruined the festival's vibe.

Thanks for taking the time to read this short story from my perspective; hopefully, the truth will come out someday.
