She didn't mean to try and kiss him. Frankly, she didn't have the slightest clue what was going on with her.
“We should probably try and go to bed soon.” Adam murmured, looking away. Her mind was blank. She was hoping to avoid a panic attack on this trip, but when it did happen around him, it felt… different. Instead of all of her reality crumbling on her own shoulders, she felt propped up, given permission to melt within his safety. Her tears had fallen so effortlessly, granting her little time to prepare the usual emotional safeguards.
His words awoke her to her actions, that being a subconscious desire to get closer. Quickly taking her hands off of his chest, she shoved them in her pockets where they could do no more harm.
“Yeah, that drive was exhausting. I’m kinda woozy from it all, you know with the news and general stress” she maundered, hoping to explain away what happened. Walking past him, she headed towards her bed, hoping to sleep and forget it all by the morning.
“I’ll start setting up tonight. Call me if you need anything” he said, collecting his clothes and supplies from the corner of the room. She followed him with her eyes, desperately trying to read if she had made him uncomfortable.
Laying down to rest, she let her mind wander. Now was not the time to get any more attached, nor was it the time for her to second guess her plans, but somehow- both of those thoughts were the only things echoing throughout her mind as she slept.
