[BL] Late Bloomer

2. Omega Tera

2. Omega Tera

Jul 17, 2026

The dormitories were separated.

The Omega dormitory was on the left, while the Alpha dormitory was on the right. Their classes were mixed, and they shared the same cafeteria, though certain restrictions still applied. If an Omega entered heat, they were required to stay inside their room or take suppressant medication.

Yan never expected that his roommate would be Tera.

The same Tera who had the habit of suddenly falling asleep.

Yan observed the Omega.

The Omega was happily eating sunflower seeds. Out of the single suitcase he had brought, only three sets of clothes belonged to him.

The rest...

Was food.

"Sunflower seeds, acorns, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, hickory nuts..."

Yan touched each container filled with Tera's snacks.

"Apples, oranges, berries..."

He picked up the fruits stacked above Tera's bed while Tera remained completely absorbed in his phone.

"Eggs... mushrooms..."

Yan's eyes widened in disbelief.

He climbed onto the bunk above Tera's bed.

The moment he sat down—

Crack.

"What was that?"

He looked down and saw a raw egg had shattered beneath him.

Panicking, he yanked the bedsheet aside.

There, hidden underneath, were nuts, bird eggs, and carrots.

The veins on his clenched fist bulged.

He took a deep breath.

He tried to stay patient.

Patient...

Patient...

"TERA!!"

---

Yan was still trying to be patient.

Still...

He forced a smile after yesterday's incident.

Perhaps there was something he needed to understand.

The Omega who had become his roommate was basically a squirrel that instinctively stored food everywhere.

"We're going to class, right?" Tera asked as he grabbed Yan's hand.

Yan simply nodded with his usual indifferent expression.

Anyone who couldn't smell Yan's scent naturally assumed he was Tera's Alpha because Tera's scent was the only one filling the air.

The two of them entered the classroom.

This wasn't an ordinary school.

It was an ABO academy.

Every class was dedicated to teaching students about Alphas, Omegas, and Betas.

Since Late Bloomers had grown up without knowing their secondary gender, they needed to relearn everything from the beginning.

Unlike those whose secondary genders had awakened early in life, they had never received proper guidance while growing up.

Tera hurried over and sat beside Sky.

Yan quickly grabbed Tera's wrist before he wandered too far.

For now, Tera looked far too innocent.

Far too easy to prey on.

"Listen to the teacher," Yan reminded him.

A woman entered the classroom.

Judging by her presence, she seemed to be an Alpha.

"Everyone, today's lesson will cover the differences between Dominant and Recessive Omegas. Our Omega students will learn how to protect themselves, while the Alpha students will learn about the different types of partners they may encounter."

Her eyes shifted toward Yan and Tera.

"Let's welcome our new members."

Tera immediately grabbed Yan's hand.

Yan quietly endured the pain.

"Why are we called members? Is this some kind of MLM business? Are they going to make me recruit people?" Tera whispered.

Yan merely rolled his eyes.

There was no point answering.

He would only lose the argument anyway.

"Yan, Tera, come to the front. Don't stand too close together."

The two stepped forward.

The difference in height between them was striking.

So was their demeanor.

Yan looked like a street thug with his arms folded and a challenging expression.

Meanwhile, Tera repeatedly rubbed his own arms while nervously glancing around the room.

"Do you all notice the difference between them?" the teacher asked.

Gama burst into laughter at how short Tera looked standing beside Yan despite both of them being Omegas.

"Are they dating?"

"Maybe they're top and bottom."

"No," the teacher interrupted.

"They're both Omegas."

The entire classroom froze.

Except for Gama, Kai, and Sky.

"Huh?!"

"This is Yan, a Recessive Omega. And this is Tera, a Dominant Omega."

"Recessive Omegas are often considered 'incomplete' Omegas. Their pheromones are extremely difficult to detect, and even their natural scent is barely noticeable."

"Physically, some of them resemble Alphas in both build and strength. Most people can't distinguish them from Alphas unless they enter heat. Because their reproductive organs are underdeveloped, Recessive Omegas generally have greater difficulty having children."

The teacher carefully explained the biological differences.

"As for Dominant Omegas, they possess both a distinct scent and pheromones. Unfortunately, Dominant Omegas release their pheromones more easily. They are also more likely to lose control when encountering a Dominant Alpha and surrender themselves."

The teacher looked directly at Tera.

Tera looked back.

"Cheap—Mmph!"

Yan immediately covered Tera's mouth.

"Tera, watch what you say. Not everyone here is an Omega," he whispered.

The teacher invited several students to come closer for a better comparison.

"Would anyone like to test the difference?"

Gama raised his hand.

He approached Yan and leaned in to smell him.

Nothing.

There was barely any scent.

Suddenly—

Bang!

A desk was kicked across the floor.

Sky glared at Gama as though he wanted to start a fight.

'Yan really doesn't have much of a scent,' Gama thought.

He then turned toward Tera.

'And this little creature... I could smell him from all the way over here. Floral... slightly sweet... with a hint of herbs... Aster? No... Chamomile. Definitely chamomile. That scent would taste amazing mixed into tea.'

Gama decided not to get any closer.

He returned to his seat.

There was a reason he had avoided touching Tera.

"AAAAH!!"

Several students who had approached Tera suddenly screamed and ran away.

"Hahaha!"

Gama clapped while laughing.

Anyone who touched Tera was immediately sprayed with disinfectant.

Good thing he hadn't touched him.

"One advantage of being a Recessive Omega is that you're less likely to attract unwanted attention from Alphas. Your life can be relatively peaceful."

The teacher looked at Yan.

"However, your heat cycle will be irregular, so you'll need to carry suppressants with you every day."

Yan simply sighed.

"Heat is the fertile period experienced by Omegas. It usually lasts between three and seven days. During that time, avoid physical contact with Alphas, especially those intentionally releasing pheromones."

The teacher continued,

"As for Dominant Omegas, their heat cycles are regular, but..."

She deliberately left the sentence unfinished.

"Cheap—Mmph!"

Yan hurriedly covered Tera's mouth again before apologizing to the other Omegas, afraid they might misunderstand his comment.

"You shouldn't get too close to Dominant Alphas. Fortunately, there aren't any here," Yan whispered.

Although Gama had intimidated him at first, Gama seemed like an ordinary Alpha whose pheromones were neither unusually thick nor unusually weak.

While Yan was still covering Tera's mouth, Sky suddenly approached.

He gently kissed Yan's hair, closing one eye as he quietly breathed in its scent.

"Citrus."

"Fresh."

"Unfortunately, it's a fragrance only some people can appreciate. Not everyone likes bergamot perfume... just like your pheromones."

Tera looked up at him in admiration.

That Alpha looked incredibly handsome.

"Can I have your number?" Tera asked.

Yan shot him an immediate glare.

Sky ignored Tera completely.

The only Omega he cared about was Yan.

"But I like it," Sky replied softly, continuing to enjoy Yan's scent.

"I seriously don't care. You don't need to review me like that!" Yan snapped.

"A review? Sure."

Tera stretched out his hand.

"Smell mine. What do I smell like?"

Before anyone could answer, Kai grabbed Tera and pulled him back to his seat.

He placed Tera between himself and Gama.

"Give me your hand."

Tera obediently held it out.

Kai kissed the back of it.

"Let me review it... Hmm... flowers. It feels like you're carrying an entire flower garden inside you. You're special."

"What flower garden? If you're going to lie, at least make it believable," Gama scoffed.

"It's just chamomile."

He bit down on his pencil before sticking his tongue out at Kai.

Everyone immediately turned to look at Kai.
