Refraction detonated catastrophically from Celeste’s body.
Violent violet-black waves tore across the battlefield.
Reality bent.
The air warped.
The plains folded beneath the pressure erupting from her unstable body.
Yet Celeste remained standing.
One hand still gripping Yamui buried through her own torso.
The galaxies within her eyes spiraled violently out of control.
“…contain…”
Her voice distorted unnaturally.
“…it…”
Black’s expression sharpened.
Because Celeste was attempting self-containment.
But the process immediately began failing.
CRACK.
The forming cocoon shattered apart around Celeste’s body before it could stabilize.
Another layer formed instantly—
then exploded outward again in a burst of unstable Refraction.
BOOOOOOOOM—
The surrounding plains twisted unnaturally as pieces of reality itself flickered between existence and nonexistence.
Mountains warped.
Clouds reversed direction.
Fragments of shattered earth floated upward into the sky.
Celeste trembled at the center of it all.
Still trying.
Still forcing the containment process forward.
But Refraction kept breaking it apart.
Again.
And again.
And again.
Another catastrophic burst erupted outward.
BOOOOOOOOM—
Aethra’s eyes widened.
Then the explosion slammed into her, launching her from the sky like a falling star.
The Goddess crashed through distant ruins before teleportation light exploded around her.
She reappeared beside Lilith.
And grabbed her by the throat.
WHAM.
Lilith slammed against shattered stone while Aethra’s golden aura erupted around them.
“What did you DO?!”
Lilith coughed blood weakly.
Aethra’s grip tightened harder.
“ANSWER ME!”
Lilith laughed painfully through broken breaths.
“…I…”
Blood spilled from the corner of her mouth.
“…broke your weapon…”
Aethra’s eyes widened.
Then rage twisted across her face.
Nearby—
another cocoon layer shattered apart around Celeste in a catastrophic burst.
Reality screamed again.
Lilith weakly turned her head toward Black.
“…finish it…”
Black began walking forward.
Slowly.
Calmly.
She passed directly beside Aethra and Lilith without stopping.
The darkness around her feet spread across the battlefield like living absence itself.
Then she spoke quietly.
“You did well.”
Her crimson eyes shifted slightly toward Lilith.
“…for a mortal.”
Ancient symbols erupted beneath Celeste instantly.
True containment had begun.
Aethra’s expression changed.
“No—”
She vanished.
Golden light exploded across the battlefield as she rushed directly toward Celeste.
“BLACK STOP THIS!”
Aethra reached for Yamui—
and grabbed the blade buried through Celeste’s chest.
Instantly—
her scream tore across the battlefield.
AAAAAAAHHHHHH—
Celeste’s unstable aura erupted through Aethra’s arm like living corruption.
Golden flesh blackened instantly beneath uncontrolled Refraction.
The burn spread permanently across her skin.
Aethra recoiled in horror.
Black never looked back.
“I warned you.”
The containment symbols beneath Celeste intensified.
Layer after layer of black-violet crystallization folded around her unstable body while Refraction continuously fought against the process.
Lilith watched weakly from the crater floor bleeding heavily beneath shattered earth.
Every breath hurt now.
Aethra stood beside Celeste trembling in fury while burned divine flesh smoldered along her arm.
In the distant background—
the Celestial Knights watched silently.
None of them moved.
None of them dared approach.
The heavens groaned overhead as Black finally raised one hand completely.
Then—
everything folded inward.
The cocoon sealed.
Silence crashed across the battlefield instantly.
The fractured heavens stopped spreading.
The catastrophic pressure vanished.
Only the massive black-violet cocoon remained standing at the center of the crater.
Black lowered her hand slowly.
“My work here is done.”
Lilith weakly lifted her head.
“…Black…”
Black looked toward her one final time.
The darkness around her body already beginning to fade.
“…Rest now.”
Her voice softened faintly.
“…You performed a great service.”
Then she disappeared.
The darkness vanished with her.
Aethra stared silently at the cocoon for several seconds longer.
Fury burned within her eyes.
Then golden light erupted around both her and the observing Celestial Knights.
And they disappeared too.
The battlefield had finally gone quiet.
No more screaming skies.
No more collapsing reality.
Only drifting ash and ruined earth remained beneath the broken heavens of Caelrith.
At the center of the crater—
Celeste stood motionless.
Eyes closed.
Yamui buried through her torso.
The sealed cocoon of black-violet crystallization wrapped tightly around her unstable body while faint galaxies still flickered beneath the surface like dying stars.
Lilith stared at her weakly from the rubble nearby.
Blood pooled beneath her broken body.
Every breath hurt now.
Still—
she smiled faintly.
“…You really are amazing…”
The wind shifted suddenly.
Cold mist rolled silently across the battlefield.
Then figures appeared around Celeste one after another.
Cloaked.
Silent.
Forming a perfect circle around her standing body.
Their hands slowly raised toward the cocoon as ancient chanting echoed softly through the ruins.
Symbols ignited beneath Celeste’s feet.
One cloaked figure looked upward nervously.
“…Hurry.”
“The containment keeps fluctuating.”
Another tightened their hood.
“If it destabilizes again we—”
An unbearable pressure settled across the battlefield.
The chanting stopped instantly.
Then the mist parted.
A man stepped forward from the darkness itself.
Benayo.
The Northern Specter.
Tall.
Ancient.
His black robes flowed softly within the cold mist while silver markings glowed beneath his skin like moonlight trapped beneath ice.
The moment he appeared—
every cloaked figure lowered their head.
No one spoke.
Benayo’s eyes settled upon the cocoon.
For the first time since arriving—
emotion crossed his face.
“...Celeste...”
His voice carried exhaustion older than kingdoms.
He stood there for a long moment.
As though searching for the woman hidden beneath the fractured galaxies.
Only then did one cloaked figure cautiously step forward.
“My lord... the containment is stable for now, but—”
“I know.”
Benayo finally approached.
The galaxies sealed within the cocoon flickered faintly in response to his presence.
Then—
golden ash drifted across the battlefield.
Warmth spread softly through the cold air.
Another figure appeared opposite Benayo.
Elegant antlers curved from her head while golden markings shimmered faintly across dark skin beneath layered robes.
Elowen.
The Solmara Specter.
The cloaked figures stiffened.
For several seconds—
neither Specter spoke.
The silence felt ancient.
Then Elowen looked toward Celeste quietly.
“…So it finally happened.”
Benayo’s gaze never left the cocoon.
“…It should never have reached this point.”
Elowen’s golden eyes drifted briefly upward toward the fractured heavens.
“…Yet the world continues making the same mistakes.”
Benayo finally looked toward her.
The mist around him deepened slightly.
“…No.”
His voice lowered.
“…People do.”
Silence returned.
Then Elowen’s gaze shifted toward the distant remains of Caelrith.
Toward where Aethra’s presence had vanished.
“…She will not let this go.”
“She no longer matters tonight.”
The answer came instantly.
Cold.
Protective.
Elowen studied him quietly for a moment.
Then her expression softened faintly.
“…You came personally.”
Benayo closed his eyes briefly.
“…Celeste was precious to us.”
The statement carried enormous weight.
Not political.
Personal.
Then he exhaled softly through the cold mist.
“…And Lily would destroy the Northern Reaches if I returned without her.”
A faint smile crossed Elowen’s face.
“…That sounds like Lily.”
The cocoon flickered again.
The cloaked figures resumed chanting harder.
Benayo stepped closer toward Celeste.
One gloved hand gently touched the cocoon.
The unstable galaxies inside slowly calmed beneath his touch.
Elowen watched silently.
“…Can she hear you?”
Benayo remained still for several seconds.
“…I hope so.”
The battlefield fell quiet again.
Then Elowen finally stepped backward as golden ash slowly gathered around her once more.
“…The southern routes are unstable. I’ll clear them before the gods notice.”
Benayo gave a small nod.
“…Thank you.”
Elowen looked toward the cocoon one last time.
“…Bring her home.”
Then she disappeared into drifting golden ash.
The cloaked figures intensified the magic circle beneath Celeste immediately afterward.
Ancient symbols spread wider across the crater floor.
Benayo finally turned away from the cocoon.
And approached Lilith.
Lilith weakly forced one eye open through fading consciousness.
Her vision blurred heavily now.
Still—
she recognized the crest hanging from Benayo’s robes.
The Northern Reaches.
“…You…”
Benayo knelt beside her carefully.
For someone carrying such monstrous presence—
his voice sounded strangely gentle.
“…Easy now, little Vael.”
Lilith’s eyes widened weakly.
“…You know me…”
Benayo gave a faint nod.
“…Lily speaks of you often.”
Lilith weakly laughed through broken breaths.
“…That explains why you came…”
Benayo glanced briefly toward Celeste behind him.
“…No.”
His voice lowered.
“…I came because we do not abandon family.”
Lilith stared at him silently.
Then her vision finally began fading completely.
“…She really knew Lily…”
Benayo looked back toward the cocoon quietly.
“…Very well.”
Darkness slowly swallowed Lilith’s consciousness.
Moments later—
the cloaked figures, the cocoon, Benayo, Lilith, and Celeste all vanished from the battlefield together.
