The hateful gaze of the beast was drowned out by smoke and shrapnel as its head was struck with a series of tank turret impacts and handheld missile launchers.
In the distance MK heard the shout over the detonations.
"Keep the pressure on!"
MK wasn't alone anymore.
And with the monster distracted, MK could finally act freely.
MK struck the same spot on the beasts belly, again and again; with the stoney flesh, like layered shale rock, peeling away each time.
If MK was being honest, a lot of this was desperation and instinct.
MK remembered while fighting before the unearthly purple glow emitting from the beasts mouth.
And through the extensive knowledge granted by playing a lot of video games, MK could guess that if it's glowing then it's some kind of weak spot.
... yes, this plan was being pulled out of the largest possible ass but it was SOMETHING at least.
Of course, conventional video game logic also said that MK should wait for it to charge and then shoot it in the mouth, but MK hadn't taken NEARLY enough head trauma for THAT to be a good idea.
So instead, MK kept digging, looking for whatever was the source of that glow.
The creature was definitely getting more agitated as MK dug down, a good sign that this was working. However, a combination of the beast being unable to easily flip back on its legs, and the army continuing to pepper the creature kept it helpless.
Earth is invaded by giant, nigh-invulnerable alien monsters.
To fight them, the government transfers a digitized human mind into the body of an Invader.
