[BL] Late Bloomer

8. Misunderstanding

8. Misunderstanding

Aug 01, 2026

For the past few days, ever since Tera learned who his Soulbond was—and the Alpha learned the same—Gama had been showering him with quiet acts of affection.

Every morning, Tera would find food waiting outside his dorm room.

There was never a name attached.

But somehow...

He was convinced it had to be from Gama.

"Strawberry..."

His favorite flavor.

Without a second thought, Tera happily drank the vitamin drink before bouncing over to his bed.

He carefully pinned every little note he'd received onto the wall.

"Hey. Don't fall in love that easily."

Yan watched him with a sigh.

Tera's face was so red that it looked like he was experiencing his first crush.

"Who's falling in love? I'm just smiling!"

Yan rolled his eyes.

"There's no name on any of it."

"What if Kai's the one leaving them?"

"Gama wasn't even interested in you at first. He barely paid attention to you."

As the oldest—and supposedly the wisest—Yan felt obligated to give Tera a reality check.

After all...

Whoever had been leaving the gifts never once signed their name.

...

Around three in the morning, Kai heard the Alpha dorm door quietly open.

It was Sky.

Holding a small paper bag filled with snacks.

Kai silently watched as Sky slipped out of the Alpha dorm and sneaked into the Omega building.

A few minutes later...

Sky gently placed the bag outside Yan and Tera's room.

"I hope you like it, Yan."

Clatter!

"Huh?!"

Sky instantly pulled up the hood of his jacket and bolted down the hallway.

If Yan saw him, he'd never accept the gift.

But if the snacks just happened to appear outside the room...

Yan might eat them together with Tera.

The moment Sky disappeared—

The door slowly creaked open.

Tera stood there, blinking.

His mouth hung open.

He bent down, rubbing his sore back before picking up the bag.

Then...

He slowly hugged his knees.

"...I thought the world revolved around me."

...

The next morning...

Tera dumped every single snack onto Yan's bed.

Of course...

Not before taking one bite out of each of them.

Every opened package had been neatly sealed again with paper clips.

Yan cracked one eye open.

His face was buried beneath a mountain of half-eaten snacks.

"...What?"

He picked one up.

Every single package had already been sampled.

"Al... Alpha..."

Yan immediately looked at Tera.

His lips were trembling.

His eyes were red.

He looked seconds away from crying.

"My Alpha is so stingy..."

"Waaah!"

Tera suddenly threw himself at Yan.

"I thought he bought all of those because they were my favorite snacks!"

"I ate them..."

"I was so happy..."

"I thought they were all for me..."

"But they were from Sky."

"They were for you."

"Why doesn't anyone give me gifts like that?"

"Why?"

"Am I not good enough?"

"Is something wrong with me?"

"Why is my Alpha so stingy, Yan Hyung?"

"...Kid."

Yan clicked his tongue.

After listening to all that...

His conclusion was simple.

Tera was unbelievably childish.

Just then, Tera's phone buzzed.

[Gama: Did you like it?]

"What do you mean, 'Did I like it'?!"

"I didn't get anything, you cheapskate!!"

Tera immediately sent back a furious voice message.

Meanwhile...

On the other side of campus...

Gama stared at his phone in complete confusion.

Yesterday he'd sent Tera a stuffed doll.

Every morning he'd also left kimchi fried rice outside his room.

...How had he suddenly become stingy?

He tapped his chin thoughtfully.

Before sunrise, he prepared another gift.

This time with an apology letter.

But when he arrived outside Tera's dorm...

Someone had beaten him there again.

Five in the morning.

Kai.

A loaf of bread.

A carton of milk.

And this time...

Kai had even attached his name.

The second Kai disappeared—

Gama walked over.

Picked everything up.

And tossed it straight into the trash.

Then he quietly replaced it with his own food.

Hidden around the corner...

Kai watched everything.

Every morning, Gama ruined his gifts.

So naturally...

Kai intended to return the favor.

The moment Gama left—

Kai picked up Gama's breakfast.

He took it to the sports field.

Finished every bite.

Then threw the empty container into a trash can.

"If I can't win..."

"...Neither can you."

...

"I've never liked Gama."

Yan glanced toward Gama's desk.

The Alpha was busily writing yet another letter.

Tera had blocked him.

Gama still had no idea what he'd done wrong.

But he wanted to apologize anyway.

Because of everything that had happened...

Tera spent the entire day sulking.

He didn't even show up for class.

Yan quietly walked over to Gama.

He read the letter.

Then...

He unblocked Sky.

Sky's phone buzzed.

His eyes widened.

A message...

From his Omega.

He immediately turned around to look at Yan.

"Are you delivering this to Tera?" Sky asked, doing exactly what Yan had instructed.

"Of course."

Gama nodded.

"I honestly hate writing letters."

"But I'm planning to start courting him."

"And ask him out."

He handed the envelope to Sky.

"Tell him it's from me."

Behind Gama's back—

Yan secretly gave Sky a thumbs-up.

Sky answered with a playful wink.

...

Tera lay lifeless on his bed.

The door suddenly opened.

Yan tossed an envelope onto his blanket.

"Who's it from?" Tera asked.

"Kai."

Tera opened it.

Read it.

Then immediately threw it into the trash.

'I thought it'd be easy to fool him into going on a date with Kai...'

'Especially since Sky already told Kai to wait there.'

Yan quietly picked the letter back up.

...

Elsewhere...

Gama arrived at the café he'd rented out for the day.

Only to find...

One very familiar blond ghost already lounging there.

Kai sat comfortably in one of the seats.

His feet occupied the chair beside him as if he owned the place.

Gama's fist slowly tightened.

The scent pouring from his body instantly changed.

Among Alphas and Omegas...

It was the unmistakable smell of anger.

Heavy.

Oppressive.

Disgustingly intense.

...

"Hey, Tera!"

With the dorm doors locked, Gama climbed through the window instead.

Tera wasn't on his bed.

The room was thick with his scent.

Then—

The bathroom door opened.

Without thinking—

Gama grabbed Tera by the shoulders and shoved him against the wall.

His emotions exploded.

"Why didn't you come?!"

"Huh?!"

"Do you know how long I waited?!"

"I'm sorry if I haven't been good at approaching you!"

"But I rented out an entire café for you!"

"So why didn't you come?!"

Tera tilted his head.

Completely confused.

"...You rented... what?"

His hand immediately covered his nose.

Gama's scent filled the room.

It was so overwhelming that Tera's knees nearly gave out beneath him.

Only then did Gama realize something.

Tera was wearing nothing but a towel.

His eyes widened.

Without hesitation, he grabbed the nearest blanket, wrapped it around Tera, and guided him to the bed.

Unfortunately...

From anyone else's perspective...

It looked like they were embracing.

Like something had already happened between them.

"Tera got assaulted!"

An Omega standing outside the room screamed.

To make matters worse—

Tera's neck had already turned bright red.
