IF FATE IS KIND (BL)

MISTAKEN FOR A ROOKIE

MISTAKEN FOR A ROOKIE

Aug 02, 2026

Chapter 3 – Mistaken for a Rookie

The room was dark and gloomy.

A man sat tied to a chair, his hands restrained behind his back. Several men stood around him like guards, watching his every movement.

The man on the chair was covered in bruises. Blood dripped from the corner of his lips as he struggled to breathe.

The door opened.

Leon entered the room, followed by his loyal subordinates—Max, Jesh, William, and Alex.

The moment Jake saw him, fear filled his eyes.

"Boss... I'm sorry..." he pleaded, his voice shaking. "Please, I beg you..."

Leon looked at him coldly.

"Jake."

His voice was calm, yet terrifying.

"The moment you entered the gang, I knew you were up to something."

He stepped closer.

"After all... you work for my dear brother."

Jake's face turned pale.

"Please, Boss. Spare me."

"Hm."

Leon stared at him.

"Then tell me... what did my dear little brother order you to do?"

"He... he told me to spy on you and inform him about everything."

Jake quickly continued.

"But I swear, Boss! I haven't told him anything yet!"

Leon remained silent.

Then he smiled coldly.

"Do you take me for a fool?"

The room fell silent.

"Kill him."

"Yes, Boss."

Everyone replied at once.

Leon turned around and left the room.

Behind him...

Only a scream echoed through the darkness.

---

After embarrassing himself earlier, Daisy went to take a refreshing bath.

Once he finished, he changed and went downstairs for breakfast.

However...

The moment he opened the refrigerator, he froze.

It was almost empty.

There was only a packet of sliced bread and some jam.

"..."

With no other choice, Daisy ate the bread with jam and drank some water.

After finishing his simple breakfast, he checked his phone.

A new contact caught his attention.

Husband

He remembered how Leon had asked for his phone earlier that morning.

Without thinking much, he typed a message.

(Can you bring some groceries? There is nothing in the refrigerator.)

After sending the message, he waited.

But there was no reply.

He put his phone back into his pocket and was about to leave when he heard a voice.

"Oi."

Daisy turned around.

A huge man was walking toward him.

He looked intimidating.

He looks so scary...

The man stopped in front of Daisy.

"Are you new here?"

Daisy nodded.

The man grabbed his hand and dragged him along.

"Come with me."

Before Daisy could ask anything, he was taken to the training ground where all of Leon's men trained.

"Didn't you know everyone here has to train themselves? Especially rookies."

"No, you got the wrong pers—"

Before Daisy could finish, the man interrupted.

"Look at yourself. You're all skin and bones."

He pointed toward the training area.

"Go join the trainees."

"But sir, you—"

"What?"

The man's glare immediately silenced him.

Out of fear, Daisy joined the training.

The training was brutal.

For his entire life, Daisy had focused only on his studies. He had never experienced anything like this before.

This training is so tough...

I feel like I'm going to die.

Husband... where are you?

Daisy quickly sent Leon another message.

(I'm hungry.)

But before he could type anything else...

He was dragged back into training.

---

Meanwhile, Leon entered the mansion carrying a freshly prepared meal.

Behind him, his subordinates carried several bags of groceries.

"Boss, why did you buy groceries?" Jesh asked curiously.

"Daisy asked for them."

Leon answered simply before walking inside.

Jesh stared after him.

"Wow... our boss has become so obedient toward his wife."

"I'm tired from carrying these groceries. I'm going to rest."

Max placed the bags in the kitchen before leaving.

"Me too."

Jesh and William followed him.

Alex stayed behind to arrange everything.

A small smile appeared on his face.

For the first time, his boss would be eating homemade food instead of ordering online meals.

---

Leon searched through the mansion.

But Daisy was nowhere to be found.

Thinking he might be watching the training, he went toward the training ground.

However...

Daisy wasn't there.

"Boss, what are you doing here?"

A large man approached him.

His name was Jonny.

"Jonny, have you seen Daisy?"

"No, sir. I haven't."

"I see."

Leon was about to leave when suddenly...

"Husband!"

Daisy came running toward him.

But before he could reach Leon, Jonny grabbed the back of his collar.

"How dare you run toward Boss like that!"

Daisy struggled to breathe after the training.

"Husband..."

He looked at Leon.

"Why so late?"

"How dare you call our boss husband!"

Jonny shouted again.

Seeing Jonny stopping Daisy and yelling at him...

Leon's expression darkened.

"JONNY!"

His voice shook the entire training ground.

Alex came running after hearing him shout.

"Leave him immediately..."

Leon glared at Jonny.

"Unless you wish to die."

Jonny immediately released Daisy.

"I'm sorry."

He apologized quickly.

Daisy walked straight toward Leon.

"Husband... why so late?"

Leon looked at him and his cold expression softened.

"Sorry. I was busy."

He handed him the meal.

"Here. I brought your food. It's still hot, so eat before it gets cold."

"Thanks."

Daisy smiled as he accepted the meal.

Everyone around them was speechless.

Why was their boss being so gentle?

And why was this person calling Boss "husband"?

---

"Why didn't you tell them you weren't one of their members?" Leon asked.

"Oh, I tried."

Daisy looked embarrassed.

"But everyone ignored me and didn't let me finish my sentence. They all looked so scary, so I didn't have a choice."

"It's fine."

Leon sighed softly.

"Go eat your meal. I'll join you shortly."

"This way, Mistress Daisy."

Alex guided him inside.

Daisy looked confused.

"Why suddenly Mistress Daisy? Just call me one."

---

After Daisy left, Leon stayed behind.

He looked at everyone standing on the training ground.

His expression was cold.

"Jonny."

"Yes, sir?"

"Did you know who he was?"

"No, sir."

"Did Daisy try to tell you?"

Jonny lowered his head.

"Yes, sir."

"Then why didn't you let him finish?"

"I'm sorry, sir."

As punishment...

Leon ordered them to train for six hours without breaks.

Everyone accepted their punishment silently.

Because they understood one thing.

They had made a huge mistake.

The beautiful young man they thought was a rookie...

Was not a rookie at all.
