Chapter-12👀

"I'll be back soon."

With that, Hyunseok quietly walked out of the mansion, leaving Yihan standing near the doorway. After Hyunseok left, Yihan slowly turned his head and looked around the mansion. His eyes soon landed on the maid.

"You can leave."

The maid immediately looked worried. She hesitated for a moment before speaking.

"Young Master... Master Hyun told us not to leave the mansion."

The moment Yihan heard those words, he slowly looked straight into her eyes without blinking. Then, in a quiet voice that almost sounded like a threat, he said,

"I told you to leave."

"If anything happens..."

"...I'll take care of it."

"So leave..."

"...before I do something."

The maid's entire body stiffened. Her heart pounded violently as a chill ran down her spine. Goosebumps spread across her arms. Without daring to look into Yihan's eyes again, she hurriedly lowered her head and quickly left the mansion. After the maid left, Yihan stretched both of his arms above his head before letting out a deep sigh. He looked around the quiet mansion.

*I ate so much...*

*I've got plenty of energy now.*

*It's time to investigate.*

*Who exactly is Yihan...?*

*...And what really happened to him?*

A few seconds later, another thought crossed his mind.

*Right now...*

*I have the biggest doubts about that big monster guy.*

*Let's go check his room.*

Without wasting another second, he headed straight toward Hyunseok's room.

From the very beginning, Yihan had been suspicious of him.

Hyunseok was too tall.

Too well built.

Too intimidating.

To Yihan, he looked like the kind of person who could destroy someone's life without even trying.

Deep down, he believed Hyunseok was the reason his life had become such a mess.

Little he didn't know...

...he himself was the reason everything had fallen apart.

Soon, he stopped in front of Hyunseok's bedroom door.

For some unknown reason...

...his body suddenly felt cold.

A shiver ran through him.

Even so, he slowly reached for the doorknob and pushed the door open.

*Ah...*

*This bastard didn't even lock his room.*

*Good.*

*That makes things easier.*

He quietly stepped inside.

The room was dark.

The walls were black.

The curtains were dark.

Almost everything inside the room was covered in deep, lifeless colors.

Because the thick curtains blocked the sunlight, he could barely see anything.

He looked around for the light switch.

The moment he found it, he turned it on.

Click.

Warm light filled the room.

Even with the lights on...

...the room still felt strangely dark.

His eyes slowly wandered around.

A large wooden desk stood near the window.

Behind it was an expensive black leather chair.

Several neatly arranged files rested on top of the desk.

Against one wall stood a tall bookshelf, completely filled with books.

He slowly walked toward the desk and opened one of the drawers.

The moment he looked inside...

...he froze.

His eyes widened in shock.

"What the hell is this...?"

"What are these?"

He carefully picked one of them up and examined it closely.

It looked like an injection.

It was the first time he had ever seen a needle that large.

Inside the syringe, there was still a small amount of yellow liquid.

His expression slowly darkened.

*Drugs...?*

Countless thoughts flashed through his mind.

*Fuck...*

*I knew it.*

*From the very first time our eyes met... I knew this guy was bad news.*

He continued searching through the drawers.

A few moments later, he found several sheets of paper.

Each one contained a drawing.

He picked them up one by one.

But none of them were ordinary sketches.

There wasn't a single happy drawing among them.

Every page was filled with darkness.

Some looked as though they had been drawn by someone drowning in depression.

Others looked as if the artist wanted to kill someone...

...or perhaps even wanted to kill himself.

Yihan frowned.

"What kind of person draws things like this...?"

He searched the room again.

He looked through the remaining drawers, checked the shelves, and even glanced around the corners of the room.

But he couldn't find anything else.

Only the strange injections...

...and those disturbing drawings.

He slipped his hand into his pocket.

"...Fuck."

"I don't have my phone."

"Ah... what the heck."

"I wanted to take pictures."

"Now what am I supposed to do?"

After thinking for a moment, he carefully returned every single item to exactly where he had found it.

He made sure nothing looked disturbed.

Then he quietly walked out of Hyunseok's room, closed the door behind him, and headed back downstairs.

As if nothing had happened...

...he lazily dropped onto the couch, made himself comfortable, picked up the television remote, and continued watching his H-drama.

Elsewhere...

Hyunseok arrived at Cha Hospital and headed straight to Jeewon's office.

When he opened the door, he found the room empty.

He quietly stepped back outside and walked over to the reception desk.

"Where's Dr. Jeewon?" he asked.

The receptionist looked up at him, and the moment she recognized him, she visibly flustered.

"W-Welcome, Master Hyun."

"Dr. Jeewon is currently in surgery."

"Sir can you please  wait in his office until he's finished."

Hyunseok simply nodded and walked back to Jeewon's office.

As he waited, the hospital staff couldn't help but sneak glances at him every few seconds.

Some nurses peeked through the half-open door before quickly disappearing.

Others whispered among themselves.

"He's even more handsome in person..."

"So that's Master Hyun..."

"He looks so intimidating..."

A few staff members gathered the courage to enter the room.

One placed a glass of juice on the table.

Another brought some snacks.

"Please have something while you wait, sir."

Hyunseok accepted them with a slight nod.

However...

...he didn't touch a single thing.

He quietly sat there, patiently waiting for Jeewon to return.

After what felt like a long time, the office door finally opened.

Jeewon walked inside while removing his surgical gloves.

The moment he saw Hyunseok sitting there, surprise flashed across his face.

Although he immediately sensed that something was wrong, he still broke into his usual playful smile.

"Hey!"

"What a surprise."

"What brought you here all of a sudden, Hyun?"

He dramatically spread his arms wide.

"Did you already miss me?"

"Aww... I missed you too."

"Come here."

"Give your favorite cousin a hug."

Hyunseok didn't move.

His expression remained cold.

His eyes slowly darkened.

"I didn't come here to play with you."

The playful smile on Jeewon's face disappeared for a brief moment.

His own eyes also became cold.

"Then why did you come?"

A second later...

...his cheerful expression returned as if nothing had happened.

"Aww..."

"No need to look so angry."

He casually walked behind his desk, sat down in his chair, rested his elbows on the desk, and placed his chin on his folded hands.

Looking directly at Hyunseok, he quietly asked,

"So..."

"What happened?"

Hyunseok remained silent for a few seconds before explaining everything that had happened at the mansion.

He told Jeewon how Yihan had instinctively picked up the baby the moment she cried...

...how he had gently sung her a lullaby...

...and how the baby had fallen asleep peacefully in his arms.

Then his expression grew more serious.

"When I reached out to hold the baby..."

"...Yihan suddenly became furious."

"He stepped back..."

"...and told me not to touch the baby."

Jeewon quietly listened without interrupting.

"But..."

"A few seconds later..."

"...he completely forgot everything."

"He even forgot why he had gone into the baby's room."

"He looked at me and asked when I had come home."

"He didn't even remember holding the baby."

Hyunseok slowly lowered his gaze.

"I couldn't understand what was happening."

"For a moment..."

"...I thought his memories were returning."

"I thought he remembered everything."

He let out a quiet breath.

"I didn't know what else to do..."

"So I came here."

Jeewon quietly listened to everything Hyunseok had to say without interrupting him.

After Hyunseok finished explaining, Jeewon leaned back in his chair with his usual carefree smile.

"Eww..."

"Don't worry so much, you worried rat."

He let out a small chuckle before his expression became a little more thoughtful.

"But..."

"I did understand one thing from everything you just told me."

He looked straight at Hyunseok.

"The baby..."

"...is the trigger point."
