Alex and Akhmin walk up to the ruins and come face to face with a Kymerin man laced in a woven lattice shawl and brass cufflinks. They held a staff with no top. Dark, jagged wood was the hilt and the same brass metal combined it all. The deco-piece was, instead, on the bottom of it. The head was in the shape of an upside down, elongated triangle. This wasn't a staff, Alex thought at second glance. This was a spear.
The Chief Kymera bid their welcome in a simple manner. "To what do I owe the honor... Akhmin?" He peers his eyes in slits. He seems bothered with something. Akhmin replies, "This is Alex... we need to know where the obelisk is." The Kymerin Chieftain immediately looks at Alex and back at Akhmin. He closes his eyes in a sense he feels something within him. "Yes... The moment we have waited for." He takes Alex's hand and it feels to him like the chief's soul is reaching inside his own. What was he searching for? The chief immediately stops connection to Alex's vessel. His eyes are white. As he settles from the assessment, the chief's orange irises come back. "Aeo", he says. "You are lost... you must be returned" He looks at Alex, "To The Owl." Akhmin's expression twists in confusion. "The... Owl?..." The chief replies, "Yes... this is the true Taellis... she is far beyond just this planet...--"
Before the Chief could say anymore, a woman's shriek announces itself through the fields. Her neck is grasped by one of the muts that Zyphon warned about. She's thrown across the grasses as her left arm gets cut by a large rock in the way. She tears up, screaming in shock as others surrounding her in fear back up from the wolven herd. One of the berry pickers tries to pull her up but notices her arm is bruised badly, it seems to have broken from the impact. Instead of running she holds the woman close as the alpha of the pack is about to use their hammer.
Right before it touches them, the hammer is stopped... The wolf-like figure looks up from their weapon, completely stunted. "Well... so that bitch really was right... we've got ourselves a living Chiro..." Alex is holding the hammer as it is still rocketing toward its mark using the ethereal fuel within. He doesn't falter but the momentum is too great to keep in place for too long. He tells the two women Kymera to move toward his left. If they move that way, they won't get hit if the hammer makes its way even off-center toward where he wants it to be. He takes his left fist, reels it back as far as he can without moving the anvil-like base in any way, and punches the damn thing nearly off-track to where it was meant to strike, making it fly in horizontal rotation toward the rock wall. The Alpha's hands get ripped forward in the kinetic force and Alex kicks his nose up, leading him to fall backward with it bleeding. Their blood looked like green-tinted ink.
All of the other wolf beings surrounded the Alpha and Alex's spar, cheering and jeering in laughter so noxiously loud and in pattern that it reminds him of an animal he once had jotted down to memory... hyenas and dingos come to mind. Would not stop laughing... He was unsure why they did, there was nothing funny about this. Now, though, he thinks maybe these guys really do laugh at inappropriate times on purpose. The hilarity of hurting others, the sheer happiness they find when harming innocents... these are what you'd call villains... bad guys. He remembers a screen with snowy particles on it. Several colors boxing and static rustling through the air at some point in his past life. There were reels that people would watch through them, for entertainment and joy. He can't remember the word it was called, though.
Elkhra and Seff held eachother close. Seff was crying while he felt hope that Alex wouldn't break down considering his own body's conundrums. He held Alex's new journal tight in his bag. The Chieftain watched all of this pan out... he leered at the 'dogs' making a fuss in what he considered his home. Akhmin looked at him, angrily wondering why he isn't doing anything about it. He takes up his spear from his back and pounds it on the ground. The Chief simply replies, "Alex can work this alone... what we need to do now is fix up these villagers... that one is very hurt..." Akhmin's facial expression returns to a calm one. As he looks out to the field. He sees the wolf on the ground, holding his nose as he gets up growling. His eyes squint in worry. He runs over to the wounded girl to assess her needs as Achiin hides behind a rock near the entrance to the pyramid. He doesn't cry... but his affected blue eye does. "is... this eye... connected in some way?" he wonders of Alex. His blood, his essence was cursed onto his arm and eye. This talk of soul...
Achiin gets up and runs over to the battle. Akhmin sees this and yells at him but he's far too preoccupied with the woman's injuries, tapering a mount of gauze around her arm with a large, thick, wooden stick. Achiin puts his arms down and outward, closing his eyes. He has a wide stance. His hands clap together as his fingers point up as if praying. Rather than pray, however... something is amiss... The wolves start to feel bouts of wind rustle in the valley. Everything falls silent. Achiin takes his arms again... holding what looks to be large unruly orbs of air and claps it together in the direction of the wolfpack, pushing them away at least 10 feet. He drops to the ground panting as Akhmin, Seff, Elkhra and the others stare in disbelief.
As Akhmin tightens the lady's gauze softly but firmly, he rushes toward Achiin. "You shouldn't have done that! Do you know how hard it is to control it?!!" Alex's ears are shot from the shockwave. Tinnitus sets in and slowly melts away as he opens his eyes to Akhmin yelling at Achiin. As his son falls asleep, Ahkmin angrily holds Achiin close. Alex gets up and senses that he is still alive... he just used a large amount of whatever energy he had. Zyphon crawls back up on Alex and notifies him. "The Sphere... of Eden..." mentioning this again gave Alex somewhat of an idea of what it means... he's still unsure of how it all connects or exactly what it means to control elements... but he won't lose this fight to miss out on the information.
Alex is about to tell Zyphon what they had mentioned to him about merging until a sudden burst of air shoots down from the sky. He holds his arm in front of him as Akhmin is still just as tenacious upon the ground like a rooted stump, unwilling to move. He's guarding his son preciously. A figure with sharpened wings flies down swiftly, crashing the rock beneath it. The tendrils of feathers flutter down upon its head in bulked waterfall fashion as static electricity bounds off of them. They get up and stomp their clawed feet in front of the Alpha dog. "YOU DARE... PREVENT MY INBOUND STOCKS!!!" she shrieks, "DAMN HYSHPA!!!!!!!!!!"
