A purple light was peeking through the deepest cracks of MKs effort.
There.
And finally, with a last rear back and full power strike, MK heard and felt at the tips of their fingers the sound of a tiny crack.
Like a puppet with its strings cut, the beast suddenly went silent and limp, and all light had left its eyes.
Victory.
MK pulled their arm from the beasts center.
And with it, grasped tightly, was a purple crystal almost split in half from the long crack running down it.
MK looked at the crystal held above between their fingers.
It… looked familiar…in a way that made MK very uncomfortable.
But it was done.
The beast was dead, and the shots by the surrounding military trailed off, and were being replaced with sighs of relief and scattered laughs and cheering.
And with that, MK finally had space to think and consider things.
And MK just stood there, atop the dead creature, as the noises of tempered celebration washed over them, looking at the crystal in their hand and. just. thinking.
Earth is invaded by giant, nigh-invulnerable alien monsters.
To fight them, the government transfers a digitized human mind into the body of an Invader.
