My father is an actor.
Apparently, when it comes to action roles, no one does them better than he does.
But action isn't the only thing he's good at.
His entire presence seems to change from one role to another. Sometimes, it's hard to believe the characters on screen are even being played by the same person.
As he's gotten older, he's gained a certain maturity and sophistication, and apparently, he's become popular with people of all ages.
He's 186 centimeters tall, with short black hair and sharp, handsome features.
Even as his son, I have to admit—
he's a really good-looking man.
He's easygoing and straightforward by nature, but when it comes to me, he's unbelievably soft.
Sometimes, I seriously wonder...
Did I really come from this man's sperm?
That's how ridiculously cool my father is.
And he loves my mother.
Very, very much.
My mother, on the other hand, couldn't look more different from him.
He's slender and androgynous, and at first glance, it can honestly be difficult to tell that he's a man.
I think there must be some Scandinavian blood somewhere in our ancestry.
Those features seem to have resurfaced particularly strongly in my mother.
His lightly colored hair and eyes.
Skin as white as snow.
When he's quiet, there's something almost ethereal about him, as though he might disappear if you reached out and touched him.
He's supposed to be the same age as my father, but honestly, he could probably pass for one of my classmates.
He's 175 centimeters tall.
Not especially tall for a man, but still fairly tall compared to most women.
He usually wears his long, silky hair tied back in a ponytail.
Despite his delicate appearance, though, his personality is surprisingly bold.
My mother is a violinist.
He performs overseas often and travels all over the world.
Apparently, he's quite famous in the classical music world, but unfortunately, I don't seem to have inherited any of his musical talent.
So when it comes to music, I'm completely hopeless.
Still, I love listening to him play.
My mother is away from home a lot because of his work, but I've hardly ever felt lonely because of it.
Even when he was far away, I always knew I was loved.
The same was true of my father.
Both of them have always showered me with more love than I could possibly ask for.
And my mother loves my father just as deeply.
Sometimes I wonder...
If one of them died first, would the other even be able to go on living?
That's how strong the bond between them is.
I've always admired the two of them.
And apparently, I inherited far more from my mother than I did from my father.
I've almost never looked my age.
My coloring isn't quite as light as my mother's, but my features don't look entirely Japanese either.
I still haven't even grown taller than him.
I'm close, though.
Secretly, I'm hoping I'll catch up by the time I graduate from high school.
Maybe then people will stop mistaking me for a girl quite so often.
I do try to dress in a way that makes me look more masculine.
But maybe because of my soft, fluffy, light-colored hair, people still tend to assume I'm a tomboyish girl.
I'm pretty sure my voice already changed, too, but it never became as deep as an adult man's.
It's a little husky, but there's still something youthful about it.
And there's one more thing I inherited from my mother.
Like him,
I'm an Omega.
I still haven't experienced the heat that comes with being an Omega.
Maybe I'm a little late compared to others, but I haven't really worried about it.
I haven't even had my first love yet.
Maybe someday, when I finally fall in love with someone...
it'll happen naturally.
That's what I used to think, without giving it much thought.
My mother is an Omega too.
Because he was born to Beta parents, my grandparents apparently struggled at first with how they were supposed to raise an Omega child.
Even so, my mother grew up surrounded by love.
And now, he pours all of that love into me.
So does my father.
So does my father's family.
And so do my grandparents on my mother's side.
I've spent my whole life being protected and loved by so many people.
Maybe that's why.
To me, loving someone had never seemed like something to be afraid of.
The love I'd grown up watching was always the love between my father and mother.
Cherishing each other.
Needing each other.
No matter how far apart they might be, the place they returned to was always at each other's side.
Someday, I wanted to find someone like that too.
I wanted to love one person, just as my parents did.
And I wanted that person to love me the same way.
Someone who was mine alone.
And I would be his alone.
I'd always dreamed of the day I would meet someone like that.
And so—
when I entered Claiburg Academy, the very school where my parents had first met,
I felt as though I had finally taken my first step toward that dream.
Maybe I would meet someone here too.
Just thinking about it made my heart beat a little faster.
I didn't know it yet.
That I really would meet him.
Or that loving someone could bring
so much happiness...
and so much pain.
Yes.
I knew none of that—
until that summer,
in that classroom.
