Hana & Jake

For context: (spoiler alert! if you haven’t read it but basically both Hana and Jake lied and confessed feelings for each other thinking the other one’s confession was real, so now it’s time to actually fall for each other while feeling guilty while thinking they are the only one who lied, not knowing the other one’s confession was also a lie)

• Go on a business trip.  

• Includes: forced proximity (there is only one room/bed) & romantic attraction 

• Fall for each other for real

• Includes: secretly falling for each other through good and bad experiences. 
• Setting: workplace where they are rivals. 

• Find out they were pen pals when they were younger 

• Includes: one of them finding out they were pen pals, which makes them feel really bad about the current situation because that pen pal was their first love. And through those letters Hana helped Jake heal when his dad died. 

• Break up

• Includes: them breaking up.
• Reasons could include stuff like: the guilt from the lying - the feelings are real now so they feel really bad about lying. Thinking the other one is better off without them. Not feeling worthy of the other one or the fear of this becoming too messy, e.g. from confirming suspicion that Hana is the heir to the company. Or finding out the other one’s confession was fake and misunderstanding that the feelings are unrequited even though both started out fake but are real now. 

• Distracted at work + promotion

• Includes: Both are distracted at work because of the breakup + Hana gets the promotion they were both up for even though she messes up something minor. 

• Crisis at work and at home

• Includes: Hana’s relatives (on the board of directors/ higher ups) get caught in an embezzlement/ bribery scandal. Hana gets outed as the heir in the process and gossip/ defamation /nepotism claims go around. Hana’s apartment is broken into. Jake defends her at all times. 

• Apology and get back together

• Includes: apologizing for what needs to be apologized for and confessing what needs to be confessed. They get together for real now. 

• Fix everything and live happily ever after

• Includes: fixing everything that needs to be fixed and making everything good and giving them a happy ending.
