Chapter 12: The Guardian Goddess and the Bidding War
Chapter 12: The Guardian Goddess and the Bidding War
Oct 12, 2026
The morning classes finally concluded, but the hallway outside Class 1-D was still buzzing with rumors about the great "napkin riot" from earlier. Huawei marched down the corridor, her vibrant purple hair flowing smoothly over her shoulders and her signature ribbon fluttering with every step. She held her leather-bound notebook tightly to her chest, her ruby eyes fixed straight ahead as she attempted to navigate the post-war campus safely.
Yue walked right beside her, arms crossed. "You know, Lu, the entire school forum is talking about you right now. You can't just pretend nothing happened."
"Gossip possesses zero structural integrity, Yue," Huawei stated calmly, adjusting her collar. "If I do not acknowledge the data, it fails to render in—"
Before she could finish her sentence, a massive, intimidating shadow dropped down directly from the rooftop access staircase, blocking their path completely.
Standing before them was Long, the school’s legendary top delinquent. He was towering and fierce, wearing a messy, unbuttoned uniform jacket over a black t-shirt, with a sharp scar cutting across his brow. His dangerous aura usually made background students run away crying. But the moment his gaze locked onto Huawei's stunning face, his terrifying delinquent scowl instantly melted into a goofy, deeply embarrassed blush. He reached up, nervously rubbing the back of his neck.
"L-Lu Huawei..." Long stammered, his deep, gravelly voice cracking slightly. "I finally caught up to you."
Scene 2: The Alleyway Reformation
Huawei blinked her brilliant ruby eyes, stopping in her tracks. She tilted her head, her signature ribbon swaying as she looked up at the fierce bad boy. "Subject Long. Your current stance is obstructing public corridor traffic by exactly one point two meters. Is there a logical reason for this barrier?"
Long's blush deepened, his tough exterior completely vanishing as he looked at her like a starstruck puppy. "You... you don't remember me, do you? From three months ago?"
He took a step forward, his wrapped knuckles twitching as a vivid memory took over his mind.
"I was in a brutal alleyway brawl behind the train station," Long explained passionately, his eyes shining with intense reverence. "I was fighting a rival school's gang. I was covered in blood, bruised up, and I was just about to swing a steel pipe to smash a guy's face in. The violence was total chaos."
Yue gasped, subtly sliding behind Huawei for safety. But Huawei just listened with serene, clinical curiosity.
"But then," Long continued, his voice dropping to a whisper of pure awe, "you walked past the alleyway on your way home from the grocery store. You stopped. You looked at the gang war, and you looked straight at me. Do you know what you said?"
Huawei pressed her finger to her chin, her brain searching her memory archives. "I believe I remarked on the biological inefficiency of manual combat."
"You said: 'Fighting is bad for your physical longevity and creates unnecessary medical expenses,'" Long quoted dramatically, clutching his chest. "Those words struck me like a divine thunderbolt! Your pure, angelic heart hated the violence so much that it changed my entire life. Right then and there, I dropped the pipe. I quit the gang. I turned over a new leaf! Ever since that day, I vowed that my Guardian Goddess would never have to see violence again. I've been watching over you from the school rooftop every single day to ensure your absolute peace!"

## Scene 3: The Bidding War Begins
Huawei stood entirely still under the weight of his grand speech. Her analytical brain immediately processed the data, completely filtering out his romantic, cult-like devotion.
'Fascinating,' Huawei noted mentally, her fingers itching to grab her pen. 'He completely misinterpreted a basic public health warning as a theological mandate. However, his physical combat power is undeniably top-tier.'
Before she could verbally issue a technical veto to correct his "Guardian Goddess" delusion, Long thrust his wrapped fists into the air. "I heard about those hungry wolves swarming you in the hallway earlier, Huawei! It makes my blood boil! From now on, nobody touches you! I am your personal, ultimate shield!"
BOOM!
A deafening crash echoed through the corridor as a nearby metal locker door was violently slammed shut.
"Step away from the angel, you brainless thug!" a loud, authoritative voice barked.
Stepping out from the shadow of the locker row was Rong, the toughest girl in the school's sports division. She had a fierce, sharp gaze, her uniform sleeves rolled up to reveal athletic, toned arms, and a white band-aid slapped across her cheek. She marched straight over, cracking her knuckles with a terrifying glare.
"Lu Huawei doesn't need a dirty delinquent like you hanging around her perimeter!" Rong yelled, stepping directly into Long's face. Sparks literally flew through the air as the two strongest fighters in the school locked eyes in a fierce stare-down. Rong then turned her face toward Huawei, her tough expression instantly flipping into a bright, blushing, starstruck grin. "Don't worry, Huawei! A beautiful, pure idol like you shouldn't be bothered by these insects! Let a real elite athlete protect you!"
"Get in line, sports girl!" Long roared, flexing his muscles as he growled back at her. "She accepted my life reformation first! I'm her shield!"
"She didn't accept anything, ya punk! Your aura is polluting her air supply!" Rong screamed back.
The two powerhouse delinquents began arguing furiously right in the middle of the hallway, creating a terrifying wall of muscle and aggression that made all the side characters flee for their lives.
Huawei calmly unzipped her bag, pulled out her pen, and opened her leather-bound notebook to a fresh page, entirely dense to the fact that they were fighting for her love.
With a serene, deeply satisfied smile, she smoothly wrote a new entry: 'Field Test Update: An incredible structural anomaly has occurred. Subject Long and Subject Rong have entered a competitive bidding war for my campus security contract. Having both a male and female delinquent asset will optimize my perimeter defense by two hundred percent.'
She turned to Yue, who was standing there completely catatonic, her jaw practically resting on the floor tiles.
"Let us proceed to history class, Yue," Huawei said majestically, adjusting her beautiful ribbon with absolute poise. "Our safety parameters have never been higher."
Yue slowly faceplanted directly into her own textbook, groaning in absolute despair. "Lu... you're literally going to cause a gang war, and you're logging it as a corporate victory."
