1. I am trying out a more monochrome style of coloring for DIRT. If it looks a bit strange it's because I am actively learning to draw comics while creating this story! There's a chance I might go back and re-color these pages in the future if it doesn't work, but so far doing it in monochrome is saving me so much time and anguish so I'll keep trying it out for a bit longer. It's also putting the fun back into it because coloring the pages was taking fun OUT of it for me highkey. I am 50/50 on this, because I think fully colored and rendered comics look sick asf, so tbh the scales could tip either way.
2. Along with this, I'm also going to try out weekly updates!! Again, if it gets to be too much (I'm also working another job right now so I gotta ration my energy so I don't burn out etc) I'm going back to bi-weekly asap. As of this week, the updates will be a bit smaller, though they will be more frequent. I WANNA HEAR UR THOUGHTS ON THIS!! Seriously please let me know in the comments if you prefer bigger (3-5 page) bi-weekly updates, or smaller (1-3 page) weekly updates and I will take it into consideration.
3. I don't know if Tapas will lock me away for this plug, but I created a Patreon! If you wanna see progress images and early-ish updates here and there, please consider giving me your money in exchange for this service <:) My username is Skryle. I'm also on Insta under skryle7 where I do my very best to share when I upload new pages along with my other personal/irrelevant art.
4. I am so sick of drawing this gotdamned squirrel, it's started showing up in my dreams
Woah, what happened to you, buddy? Where'd your leg go? 😰 RE posting length, I read comics that upload a page at a time vs massive scroll formats and I don't have a preference. Obviously a single page can be a little harder for immersion and story retention in my brain, 3 pages works pretty well and isn't that much different to me from 5 pages, 7 pages would probably feel noticeably different in length, and the massive scrolls are definitely a time commitment for reading and can sometimes be overwhelming but satisfying reads. It seems like posting interval can impede discoverability for comics (like once a month or less frequently), and biweekly seems to be a pretty good interval. My opinion is that whatever works for you is best and I will continue to read whether there's 1 page or a slew of pages 🫂💕
