The SEA (Serevyan Enforcement Agency) controls the nation of Serevya with militaristic power. It promises to bring safety and order for everyone – with one exception.
All of mankind harbors one of seven powers: fire, earth, electricity, nature, ice, water, and air. But the SEA has outlawed and dehumanized those with the power of water. The skin of those born with that aspect shifts into an aquatic form when they come in contact with water, and the SEA has twisted that transformation into something dangerous and different. The Aquatics live under constant fear of exposure.
When a young girl named Cordelia is exposed as an Aquatic and has to flee her home, the SEA’s hold begins to be challenged. Civilians become desperate for answers, a small church holds secrets the SEA would rather leave buried, soldiers start to question their loyalty, and a military base is torn between the researchers who begin to uncover the truth, and the commander whose job it is to maintain control. As pressure builds, a conspiracy comes to light, one that has the potential to topple the SEA for good.
The destruction of the state begins in the small town of Zimkova.
