Dear Readers,

Who helped weave Ianthe’s Tapestry and forever changed the Fate of a small author like me…

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I mention that Chapter 246: “Birth of a Laiti” was the last scheduled chapter that was prepared for upload before Tapas’ official announcement of shutdown.

This “last chapter” snuck up on me—since I have so many additional chapters written, and I have been juggling not only everything else that has been coming up with the news surrounding Tapas, but also a full-time job as well as preparing a Design+ Company I'm a co-founder of.

(It was set to launch on my birthday, October 1st, and was the announcement I've been hinting at in prior updates. The one that was/is going to be a potential way to make merch for TWT, as well as the other stories myself and the other founders are working on.)

When it dawned on me that this week would potentially be the last Tapas update, I panicked. There's so much of this story I still want to share with everyone, and I at least wanted to finish the current arc.

I've been debating the possibility, and factors it would take, to consider uploading the remaining written chapters to Tapas myself [and part of me still is debating this option]. However there are, currently, stronger parts of me telling myself that Chapter 246 is the best chapter to leave off on for the Tapas Arc of “The Wrong Twin”...

I won't go into details about the chapter—for the likely majority of readers who have not read it, due to ink now becoming a rare commodity—however I will say that it is a chapter that doesn't end mid-scene and could technically feel like an end of season chapter with how it ends. So, for those that do have the ink to read it here on Tapas, I am hoping it will be satisfactory as my hiatus chapter.

My fear, if I continue uploading, is that I will continue to procrastinate the “last chapter”—with the excuse of an unsatisfactory ending, to whichever chapter I'm uploading, looming over me. On top of that, with the ability to gain ink now gone, I don't want to cause my readers to debate waiting for another chapter of TWT, or finishing another series you are in the middle of reading.

Now comes the part in this letter where I am supposed to tell you what comes next…Except…

There are still a few more things I'm in the process of ironing out before I can make an official announcement about TWT's journey forward. Plans are being made, but it will be a bit longer to set them in stone.

Especially since I also want to hear your thoughts and input. My readers are what made TWT even possible in the first place, and I want to make sure I am keeping you in mind as I take my next steps. Leading me into the next part of why I'm typing this letter.

I've made a poll in the Discord server that I've revived to get some reader input based on my tentative next steps after Tapas is gone. Link can be found below for the server, and—alongside the poll and faster updates about plans—there is a bunch of behind the scenes content like character designs, as well as places to share theories, art, or even pictures of your pets.

Everyone is welcome, even if they aren't an avid reader! (Since we have more than just reader activities.)

I'm sorry, once more, that this is all I have for you at this time, and that this is likely where Freyr and Aleksei’s time on Tapas will have to remain until the shutdown.

I'll still be attempting to provide information here whenever something big happens. However the Discord server will be the best source for swift updates, as well as where to find the smaller minute to minute updates about my plans/thoughts—with Bluesky and the other socials coming in as the best locations after that.

Prayers to Nikki—in hopes that she looks upon us in favor and blesses this path into the Unknown that has been set before us.
