Jesus showed a little fear before the Magician initiated the final clash.
The Magician threw a buzzsaw at Jesus while holding on to the chain.
Jesus barely blocked the sheer force of the impact, holding the buzzsaw in place as it ground against his greatsword.
The Magician pulled on the chain and launched himself towards Jesus. He stopped behind Jesus and whipped the other buzzsaw at his backside.
As it was hurled at Jesus, he made a prayer to keep himself alive.
Jesus: (Internally) “God, please bless my hand with the energy to stop this blade.”
One hand glowed radiantly, and he let go of the sword with that hand.
Jesus kept the first buzzsaw at bay and caught the other one flying towards him with his glowing hand.
The Magician jumped off the air.
Jesus struggled to hold both buzzsaws, but realized he had lost the Magician.
Jesus panicked at the thought of losing him for just a moment. He followed the chain's path and found the Magician suspended above him.
Jesus was trapped between the pressure of the two buzzsaws.
The Magician pulled on the chains and catapulted himself downward, leading with his legs.
Jesus: (Internally) “No! No! No! Think fast! What do I do?!”
Jesus frantically looked around and then underneath him. He pushed as hard as he could to straighten his arms and make just enough space so he could slip under the saws.
The Magician struck the buzzsaws with his legs and staggered for only a second.
Jesus tried to recover, but was immediately threatened by the Magician after he threw a buzzsaw at Jesus again.
Jesus dodged to distance himself from the saw’s path.
The Magician whipped the chain of the thrown buzzsaw, and it changed directions mid-throw, aiming towards Jesus again.
Jesus was shocked and tried another dodge, but before he could even plant his feet, the Magician whipped the chain again to shift the saw’s trajectory.
Jesus was barely dodging the first buzzsaw, so the Magician threw his other buzzsaw and whipped the chain similarly.
Jesus struggled to tell which direction the attacks were coming from. He slipped past one saw, but was suddenly sliced by the other.
He evaded as many attacks as he could before he reached his limit. He ducked under a flying buzzsaw, but was left awkwardly crouched.
The other flaming buzzsaw struck his legs, dropping him to his knees far away from the Magician.
Jesus: “Ah!” (Internally) “Is this it? I have... nothing more...”
The Magician brought the buzzsaws to his sides and walked towards Jesus. The saws spun viciously. He slowly spun the chains to spin the buzzsaws in circles, taunting Jesus as he approached.
Shadows and flames of Hellshift covered the Magician; his eyes glowed with the power of Hell. Jesus faced this horrifying sight: a monster reflected in his eyes.
Jesus: (Terrified) “You, you’re not the Devil’s servant; you are the Devil!”
Magician: (Grinning) “No. No… I. Am. The Magician.”
The Magician readied a killing blow.
Jesus: (Screaming in anger) “You still can’t kill me!”
The Magician threw a buzzsaw next to Jesus’ head. It flew past him.
He yanked the chain, bringing the buzzsaw back.
Jesus: “And you will NEVER be able to face Go—”
The buzzsaw sank into Jesus’ back and hooked him, yanking him towards the Magician.
As Jesus closed in, the Magician pulled his other buzzsaw in and caught the handle of the spinning Hell Blade, stopping its rotation.
Sshlck.
Once in range, he stabbed Jesus through the heart with his Hell Blade.
The Magician looked down at Jesus as he held the blade still.
Magician: “I can’t kill you?”
He slowly pulled the blade out from Jesus’ chest. Jesus’ eyes started to fade. The battle reached its conclusion.
The Magician guided Jesus down onto his knees.
The Magician believed he had defended his city. He killed his destined opponent. He had won.
Jesus continued to kneel. His head dropped.
The Magician walked away and reminisced about the fight. Truly, Jesus was his best opponent and most entertaining.
The Magician couldn’t hear cries from below. Wind whistled past him as he turned his back to the dead man.
This ending opened the door for future fights. He had come one step closer to God.
…
???: (In a deep, almighty voice) “You think too highly of yourself.”
