An extremely quick-and-dirty concept led to the creation of Luka.
I already had an idea for a mad scientist-looking temporary character, and Luka’s design came about quite easily, as I didn’t want her color scheme to overlap with the others; nor did I want her too similar to Hazel.
The idea to make her a “fairy-type” character came rather late in the design process, not unlike a flash of mad scientist inspiration.

What better thing to do than to juxtapose a “stereotypical mad scientist” with the “stereotypical magical fantasy creature” such as a “fairy” (official race name pending)?

Originally had the idea of calling her “Doc” as a nickname, but it didn’t sound right after characterizing her as a mad scientist.

…the oversized gloves in the design here may or may not be affected by watching lots of Dexter’s Laboratory for inspiration.
