I feel like this needs little bit explanation.
In their world, slavery is completely legal.
But they can't force anyone into slavery, the slave has to agree to it.
Even if they do own them, they still can't do whatever you want with them. They can't murder or rape them or sell them forward. They are still people, even if they are "owned" by someone.
I'm little bit nervous what you people think of this stuff... But it is important part of the story.
If you see errors in my English, please correct.
