Monochrome Dreams concerns the primary characters, Kale and Callisto, working as bodyguards for a mid level minister in Martian politics. When the minister is seemingly killed, revealed to be an artificial shell into which his senses had been wirelessly projected, it initiates a moral panic among pure strain humans who begin to fear the unseen androids among them. Their reputations at stake, the pair attempt to discover who was behind the assassination attempt, and in so doing uncover a scheme by dangerous radicals that threatens to tear the Mars Project apart in open race war.
