Payne and Phury have little interest in the machinations of Heaven and Hell. They’re just hell hounds doing their job, collecting damned souls, and running out the clock on their contracts until they’re free of Hell and its strings. Until the night they find an angel chained up in their next target’s shed, and from the moment they decide to bring him home, elsewhere things begin to… machinate.
Things were going rapidly downhill for Asoro, even before a mad man locked him in a shed and bound him with magic. A “good” angel would be cautious of the hell hounds, but he finds himself simply grateful and charmed by his saviors. He’s never been good at resisting temptation.
