As a student who used to study in an international school, it was very common to have close friends leave to return to their home countries. Just like in the comic, we try to maintain a close relationship over the internet but it just doesn't work as we're really overwhelmed by the new people we meet.
It's kind of sad to see this happen.
On a more positive note though, I've read all the comments and am currently working on a Q&A comic! Expect that to be published on Monday!
