Enter the swan. Martin Luther's father, Hans Luther, wanted him to become a Lawyer. This way, Martin would be wealthy enough to take care of his aging parents. In 1505 after enrolling in law school, Luther was riding near the village of Stotternheim when a violent thunderstorm overtook him.
