Eyra has an affinity with animals (apart from crocodiles!) but she's not opposed to exploiting them to save herself a bit of climbing. Serves her right if her new friend legs it with the dates. The deeper Eyra goes, the older the ruins get. The pyramid is based on the Fourth dynasty Meidum step-pyramid built by Sneferu. She's sketching a ruined statue of him in panel 3... Who says I never do research?! :)
