Maybe the relevant cultural attitude is different, but I went to a uniform-wearing middle school back in Korea, and even the tiniest aberrations the students tried to hide from the teachers. e.g. the socks had to be simple white quarter socks. Occasionally daring students would wear something different, like white crew socks with something printed along the "neck", and they would fold down their socks around teachers.
Neither Viola nor Celesta seems to have expected this to raise issues. Sister Rain seems even more shocked (her first time seeing Celesta not wearing the proper uniform from head to toe?). This says something -- not sure what it is just yet, but it says something about the characters and the setting. Looking forward to learning more about the characters as well as the internal culture within the Assassins!
