Parker hates bibs. Hates them. I would go so far as to say he resents them.
As soon as I put a bib on the boy, he starts pulling and yanking on it. This is accompanied by horrible grimaces on his face and a furled brow, so it causes me to worry if he’s hurting himself. It also makes me wonder if one day he’ll grow up and become some heartless dictator whose sole purpose in life is to eradicate all bibs from the face of the earth. Should that ever happen, may God have mercy on us all.
So, in response to my son’s bib hatred, I’ve relented. I typically don’t make him wear a bib when I’m feeding him anymore. I try to bargain with the kid not to make a mess, but it seems the guy is messier without the bib. He starts blowing raspberries with his mouth full of banana yogurt, and it’s just plain disrepectful if I’m being honest.
Do your children express hatred toward bibs? How do you handle the issue?
