E7: Goodbye 2016 Anxiety, Hello 2017!

2016 has, without a doubt, been the worst year of my life. I found myself just sitting in waiting for the clock to strike midnight. Even though I knew ticking the year count up 1 would not really change anything, there is something beautiful about the hope that everyone gets around the new year.
People run out to the store to buy more kale, dig out those running shoes they got last year around this time, and remember that they have been paying for a gym membership that they used only a few times last January. It's funny how a man-made concept of time, a new year, feels like it gives people super powers. Everything they couldn't get themselves motivated to do a day earlier somehow feels possible.
Not only is the start of a new year about making resolutions to better ourselves, it's also about reflecting on the previous year. While I reflected on 2016, I got thinking about how I imagine depression and anxiety (as characters) would think of 2016. That thought, was the inspiration for this week's comic.
