Cali and Kai was going to be a romance comic with a lot of character development and exploration of gender and sexuality, Kai was going to cut off all the hair people begged her to keep, Cali was going to realize that they're non-binary, they would become great friends and eventually datemates, sadly...none of this went down, and you know who I blame? Fen. I created his character for comedic relief, and some romantic confusion, but his character wasn't supposed to really matter in the end (Sorry Fen) but you know what? I got attached to him. While coming up with the storyline I became attached to the idea of Fen and Kaia being in a relationship, because I thought the dynamic was interesting, he was going to be her big brothers best friend who she had known forever, but also her principle, thats why I made him so young... but in the end I couldn't really see how KaiaxFen would work out, and I lost sight of the storyline and gave up on it. I had fun making up story lines for these characters though, I very rarely get attached to my own characters so it was a new experience for me, and quite a nice one really. I'd like to apologize for the horrendous sketches that make up most of this comic, they were drafts and honestly past some sentence editing I couldn't get myself to redraw them. Maybe someday I will bring some of these characters back in a new story... I hope so.
