This story is actually in the same universe as a book I wrote once. Again, as inspired by Neil Gaiman, ravens take on a kind of mystical role in the universe being (more than just well dressed avians). Thus, the Raven Council is a trans-dimensional neutral ground that hoards worthwhile objects to give them political/economical vantage.
