Synopsis: Being that kind of person, Dumjoq decides to tease Kinji and try to force her to go into the dying forest. She doesn’t like the idea at all, having heard rumor of the haunted forest and the things that supposedly “live” in there. But Dumjoq likes his posturing, and is none too bright, so he puts on an air of bravado and assures her that he will protect her. So sure is he of himself, that he fails to notice the thing emerging from the tree behind him. But Kinji sees it and tries to warn him…

CREATOR NOTES:

There may have been a bit of schadenfreude when I wrote and drew this part… I knew a guy like this in high school (who didn’t?) that was not known for his mind, but was well known for his brutish personality. Being the biggest kid in school, he was used to people doing what he said and not facing much adversity. He didn’t have to show respect, or be all that nice. And girls like Kinji here were attracted to that primitive… charm? Anyway, I’m sure Dumjoq will be fine. Don’t let the lack of a character page for him be any kind of indication of ominous foreshadowing…
