The Wolf Among Us is a Telltale Adventures game based off of the graphic novel with the same name. You play as Bigby, AKA the Big Bad Wolf, whose role as sheriff is to solve a series of murders occurring to the fictional characters who have migrated and are hiding in New York City. Does this sound ridiculous? Good – because it is.
--Verdict--
Art: Like all of Telltale’s point-and-click games, the art is lovingly done in a cell-shaded style to emulate the look of the graphic novel. This tale is gritty and noir, and looks absolutely gorgeous with the character art.
Gameplay: Your actions have serious weight. Things you say or do, or DON’T say or do can heavily impact the story. This is a point-and-click mixed with a choose your own adventure.
Replayability: Very High. Considering that your actions have such weight it would be interesting to go back and try a different strategy just to see what happens.
Would I recommend? Personally, I preferred the Walking Dead’s storyline, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t really enjoy this game. My girlfriend, who is not a big fan of video games, will sit down and play this game with me as though we are watching an interactive TV show. Telltale builds great narratives, and they’re even more fun with a friend. I would definitely recommend this game, but word of warning – once you play this one you’ll want to play more.
