I have been battling depression for some time now. I constantly find myself craving junk food, especially chocolate. It gives a temporary high while I'm consuming it, but definitely makes me feel worse in the long run. I have way more control over my chocolate and junk food consumption when I'm not depressed. That got me thinking about depression, as not only a thing that makes me feel melancholy, but also a little chocolate junkie with an obligate need for the sweet stuff.
While in college, my studies were highly science-based, so I thought it was a fun idea to think about testing my depression's tendency towards chocolate addiction in a scientific way. Maybe someday I'll give it a try and see if I can actually catch my own depression. First I'd have to figure out how to not eat chocolate.
