Dreams are a great way to explore certain things about characters. And it was time to explore Max's feelings towards Angela a bit more. There can sometimes be a great amount of truth found in dreams.
For instance: I once dreamed I was looking for Big Foot and then suddenly I was a turtle. Tell me that doesn't mean anything.
