Gratitude doesn't come with the job description it seems.
It's not simply about accepting mortal lives have to come to an end. It's about many other things. Guilt. Helplessness. Worthlessness. Sadness. Anger. Frustration. The persistent thought that you could've done much more. It's these feelings that are hard to deal with. Not everything is as simple as it seems.
