You are a leaf upon a mighty tree
One day however, you lost a great friend
As you mourn your loss young leaf, you shall see
And ponder the message to you I'll send:

One day my friend, you too will wilt and brown
Your life's purpose and meaning now appeased
Then slowly and gently, you will fall down
In the arms of the mellow gentle breeze

As you slowly fall to uncertain ground
A lullaby of silence ends your day
As you are deaf to the world's hectic sound
You close your eyes smiling, fading away......

But in the end, your friends shall remember,
That you were in their branch, there, forever
