"The next morning, they had asked how she slept. After explaining that she had not slept a wink because of something hard she had laid on, the family saw that she was a true princess. The prince took her as his wife and the pea was placed in a museum for all to see. If it hasn't been stolen."
The end.
Again, I shortened it a bit to fit. Also when I read the ending, I couldn't believe that was the actual ending to this fairy tale. But it is.

This was something I did in high school which was to tell a short story through paper cutouts. I chose to do the princess and the pea. We had only a limit of five pages to tell the story.
