This comic may seem harsh but I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.
For a generation that started out with such vigor - the Civil Rights Act, Vietnam protests, and mass civil disobedience - the Boomer generation has turned into an incredibly selfish group of people. The astounding lack of foresight in American politics, largely fueled by the massive voting bloc of Boomers, scares the hell out of me. I care about the future because, damn it all, I plan to live in it. I care that the earth is warming and want to do something about it (whether it's man-made isn't even that relevant to me, just acknowledging reality would be a huge step forward in my eyes). I care that our infrastructure and social programs are underfunded. I care that the top few percent of Americans are getting richer while the rest of us stagnate or move backwards. I care that some want to legislate my morality based on a book written 3,000 years ago by a bunch of goat herders.
And I've given up all hope that Boomers will suddenly begin to give a damn about younger generations and what kind of world they want to inherit. So I guess our remaining option is to just wait them out. They can't live forever.
