A short 6 page prequel to the Age of Heroes that introduces the primary setting for the series, the (fictional) town of Oxnard, NJ as well as some of the key players in the main series: 16-year old Midge Spooner and his friend and neighbor Jasmine Pianofield.

About the Age of Heroes
“Imagine that every myth or legend you’ve ever heard of is true- they just got the details a little wrong”
The Age of Heroes is the current title for a project I have been working on sporadically since I was 16 years old. It was always meant to be a story that had a definite beginning, middle and an end, rather than the typical series that runs for as long as the character is still selling. While that approach to making comics might be good for business, it doesn’t always make for the best stories. I’m trying to avoid the sorts of restrictions that doing a purely profit driven comic can impose on the quality of the story as much as possible by making my pet project available on the Internet for free. It’s also a hell of a lot less expensive than trying to self publish my work!
Here is a brief overview that hopefully won’t give too much away:
The basic premise of the series is that there have been 2 previous “ages of heroes”, the first being recorded in the ancient mythology of the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans; the second being the in the legends of the Dark Ages, King Arthur, Robin Hood, etc.
The series tells the tale of the dawn of the newest, 3rd Age of Heroes, an era of superheroes. The story will also gradually reveal the reason for these cycles of heroes. The series will have a lighthearted, adventurous tone to it with a lot of humor and will have elements of the fantasy and espionage genres in it, as well as super heroics.
