Today I have another “Special” episode for you, since I didn’t have enough time to do a proper strip this weekend (been busy working on another new comic project) :)

I recently thought about developing some backstories for my 4 boys, just to give their characters a bit more depth and to refine their different personalities. Well, the first thing that came to my mind was the question: What was it like when they first met in that boy group casting they attended before they became a big hit? :D

So, this is how they met for the very first time!

The only ones that actually know each other are Alek and Shae, because they are friends form high school. Shae forced Alek to go to the casting with him - they always sang together in school and he knows they are an unbeatable team. Alek is quite unsure about his own abilities and never thought about seeking a career in showbiz. Glad he did anyway!

Levi on the other hand is all on his own - he ran away from home to finally make his dream of a singing career come true. He learned to be a fighter throughout his life (he was often bullied in school for his more feminine figure, also his single mother can’t cope with the fact that he is homosexual) and he definitely won’t back down.

And Calyan... well, he just happened to be around the casting location while looking for a part-time job (since he is the oldest of his siblings, his mom wanted him to help support the family) and he spontaneously decided to participate cause it looked fun. That’s just how he is :D (good thing he can actually sing :P)

I had so much fun drawing them before they were transformed into a boy group ;) I think I’ll do a proper backstory comic one day - guess that’ll be fun :)
And I don’t know why, but somehow I love Levi’s hair when he was a teenager - suits him so well! *aaawww*
