To be honest, I kinda expected this to be shallow BL dross I'd end up dropping in the first five or ten minutes; yet this turned out to be a real gem. The art reminds me of a premium comic, minus the soullessness the few I'd read seem to have; to put it in a less confusing manner, it's really good. 'Course criticizing art is something I am shit at, sooo, yeah... Anyway! Clement is a sarcastic and snarky ass, and I already love him; I found his reaction to having to kiss Redbeard's son to be quite funny. Kind of subverted my expectations too, most other comics I've seen that do that kind of thing always end with them blushing, shagging, or both at the same time.
The black comedy works well, it doesn't make burst out into laughter; but it does make reading the comic more enjoyable. The fact it isn't stark and serious all the time is a point in its favor. It's really disappointing to see comics like this get so little subscribers, I really do hope this one gets more recognition; as it absolutely deserves it. I may spout off praise all the God damned time, but hey, I mean what I say; this is an interesting tale, and I look forward to seeing more of it.
