I heard that cats bring people prey because they're trying to teach them how to eat it, like kittens.... but I don't think most humans would appreciate their hard work.

I remember when I was a kid our cat would bring dead birds into my sister's room and hide them under her pillows.
I'm guessing she thought she was bringing my sister a surprise gift like the tooth fairy... only with dead birds instead of money.
