In a nutshell, Mittaines is a blend of Mr Burns (age, greed, disconnection from the current world), Moe Szyzlak (soul-crushing loneliness) from the Simpsons, Squidward from Spongebob Squarepants for his misanthropy and Paulie Pennino from the Rocky franchise or his general ability to treat other people around him like shit and yet keep a gentle giant as a, for lack of a better word, friend.
There is also a healthy dose of pretty much every major character played by Louis de Funes, an french actor who became a comedy legend in the 1960s through 80s by playing irritable, bigoted, cranky authoritary old men. The buzzmobile frames comes straight out of the opening sequence of "The Adventures of Rabbi Jacob", just before his bigoted, racist and antisemite character finds out his driver is a jew.
