Yay, a lighthearted tale about human suffering! Here is the origin story of how Kasumi met up with Cappy. I have no idea how I thought such a concept could succeed, but enjoy reading this surreal story structure that treats saving people like a Pokémon battle. I also thought it would be interesting with heroes that don't mind offing the opposition.

Hey kids, you wanna read a comic about human trafficking?!
Yeah, that’s what I thought. Teen me was VERY altruistic, and I had an idea for a story that dealt with a podunk future where half the world benefitted from slavery and the other half loved circumventing such business practices. Enter the Cappy Crew: a band of poaching pirates that travel around and disrupt dirty dealings. I thought it would be an interesting concept to deal with a real world problem, but also show off that those who challenge the slave trading business have made their own morbid business model; poaching pirates earn experience points and move up ranks by freeing slaves, and there are elite classes within the hero ranks that blur the lines between helping and harboring.
